LKQ intentionally prices parts in a confusing and nonsensical manner to pad its profits.
Its pricing menu contains cores charges for parts that cannot possibly be remanufactured.
The most egregious example happened to me last week when they had a $10 sale on tires.
To buy the tires you have to buy the whole wheel with tire and separate the two at home.
I was charged an "environmental fee" on the rims when I bought them. LKQ refused to refund the "environmental fee" when I returned the rims.
What could possibly be the logic to this practice? If I do not buy the part, why should I be charged an "environmental fee"? For ...uh... what...exactly?
Pure greed. That's LKQ.
