This is a large company with money to burn. They are in several states with several different names. Sherman Acquisition starterd the whole mess from what I have learned. They have posted on my credit with the bureaus a collection for $218 for a bill which I supposedly owed to MCI. I have disputed this claim with the bureaus.
Upon checking my report with TRANS UNION, I saw an inquiry into my credit history made by a company named "First Choice". They had done an inquiry in December 2006. I could not think of applying for credit anywhere around that time, nor anywhere close to it. I got the address and phone number of the company and called them. After asking who they were and when was a credit application done, I was told that it was a collection and they would transfer me to that office. The guy who got on the phone said they were Resurgent Capital services.
I then said " Resurgent as in LNVN Funding, aka Sherman acquisition, aka Alegis Group, aka Ventus Capital, and now First Choice? Who gave you authority to inquire into my credit history because I didn't. You people are treading on very thin ice and I am going to file a complaint with the FTC. You may be facing a law suite for this act." I then hung up and I file a complaint online with the FTC.

These people have no respect for people, their privacy, or the law. They just do as they please and harass and EXTORT people for money no matter what the cost.
