Local Flavor Clipper Magazine False Advertising Means Disappointed Advertising Business And Coupon Buyers Mountville PA

I am a business owner.  I was approached by an aggressive salesperson to buy advertising with Clipper Magazine.  I explained my distaste for coupon mailers but she told me that I can try it out by bartering.  All I had to do was provide them 96 certificates for entry to my business ($59 each) in lieu of payment, and they would sell those certificates online to pay for my advertising. 

When I went online to review how many tickets they sold, I realized that they sold 144, 48 more, or $2,832 more than what we agreed to.  There had apparently been a misunderstanding as they failed to tell me that in addition to providing them certificates, I had to provide them at a 50% off discount.  I have email correspondence from both my direct sales person and the Vice President stating that I am to provide "96 certificates which is the same as 48 sets of 2 tickets". 

I told them that I would not honor the additional 48 certificates (24 sets) that they sold to 3rd parties unless they pay me $2,832, the value of these extra certificates.  Alternatively, they can refund their customers the $1,416 that they collected for certificates that I will not redeem.  They refused, and are willing to let their customers attempt to redeem the certificates at my business, knowing that I will not honor them. 

I also suggested that we can let a small claims court decide who is right monetarily.  They refuse to do that as they know that I have in writing from 2 different people that my understanding is what they communicated to me and I do not owe them $2,832.
