I do not have a loan with this company, my only connection with Long Beach is through a family member who has an auto loan with them. I have some how got caught up in the middle.

I received a call from a collection officer/person from this company lookimg for my family member a few weeks ago. I would not have thought much about it except they called looking for me under my maiden name which I have not used in over 10 years. If that was not bad enough they told me that they were calling from the Flint Bureau of Investigation regarding a criminal case.

When I called the Flint Police Department, the officer informed me that he had never heard of such a place. I tried calling the number that showed up on my caller ID when the lady called and could not get my call through. I left it at that until last night when my mother-in-law called me regarding the same telephone call. By this time I was very upset.

I called several attorneys and they either would not listen to my case or told me that there was nothing that they could do. When I called the FTC they told me that unless I could prove that they had obtained my personal information illegally there was nothing that I could do or them.

I am outraged to see that a company can do whatever they want to whomever they want and there is nothing that can be done. I thought that our private information was just that, private. But I am finding out that this is not the case. I am so frustrated and angry. If there is anything anyone can tell me please let me know. Like I said, I am not a customer of this company and have become a victim of their harrassment and illegal collection practice.
