We, my son and I, confimed a price on a left over 2006 bike which displayed a sales tag on it of $6,099.00. We were told there was a free warrenty and that the financing would be through a loan with a fixed monthy rate for a fixed number of years. We were told there would be no paper work until the following day because it was a Sunday and that the bike would be delivered the next day and we would receive the documentation then. The bike was delivered the next day to our home with no documentation.

A few days later we receved from the finance company a line of credit for $15,000 and a deduction of $12,260.93 for the total cost of the bike with monthly payments completely different from what was quoted. The bike had a sales tag on it for $6,099 and when we questioned Fred, if that was indeed the price he said, "yes" and that there would be a free service plan too and that the payments would be fixed at $99.00 a month for the first two years and $119.00 for four years.

I contacted Fred Rollo, the manager at Long Island Cycle and Marine and part owner, to find out when we would receive a permanent registration, bill of sale and copy of financial paperwork. I went to his office to get copies of the above information and it was then that I found out that there was a discrepancy in the actual price quoted and the bill of sale.

He told me that the additional charges were normal and that I should have expected them. He said that the price of the bike was $6,999.00. The service plan was not free, I was charged $2,000.00. There were dealer prep charges. The $300.00 cash down payment was not listed.

From then to now I placed over 40 phone calls for them to agree that what was quoted was not actually financed. He stated that He was willing to correct it. Fred also stated that he would remove the $2,000 warrenty charge.

My phone calls were never retured, my appointments were always cancelled. At one point, someone at Long island Cycle and Marine when I inquired as to why my appointment was cancelled, told me "This is bull S---, go F--- yourself. and was hung up on. I immediately called back and questioned the vulgar speech and was told the same thing again.

I spoke to Vito, Joe, Gina, and numerous other pepole who stated that they would help me and take care of the problems, because they wanted a "happy customer".

The only times I actually got some response was when I physically went to their office. There was always a differnet person there, one actually quit while I was there because of this situation. To this day nothing has been done to rectify this situation.

The motorcycle was never reqistered, I have yet to receive a title and nothing has been corrected. I am stuck with a $12,260.93 credit card bill, which when my son (who I co-signed for) finishes paying with all the financie charges, will be paying over $23,000.

FORMER EMPLOYEE TELLS ALL!!!!

There are numorous complaints about LI cycle and marine I worked there for many yearswhen at there old location in West Islip and can tell you or anyone of the bussiness habits of them.
The owners name is Tom Castellano who lives in West islip and was in the car bussiness prior to the motorcycle store, the family did own south shore Jeep in Lynbrook up until approx 1997-or 98 at that time they were forced to sell the dealership due to bad business practices and was basically pushed out of the new car game by the manufacture of the products they sold.

the bait and switch tactics are not new and have been done by them since day one, the financing practice of "double dipping" they do all the time and they will finance a product, then also get a buyer a credit line on a revolving charge from say honda ,kawasaki yamaha ect to add the overpriced extended warr, alarms, assy or what ever, the seller usually has no idea until a month later when they get the bill, they often have the customer sign so much stuff on delivery they never relize what they signed for till is too late, very common practice over there, saw it all the time while i was there first hand. only the very acute and sharp buyers would pick up on what was happening at the time of sale and would eiether just walk away from the deal and go someplace else, or get it corrected at that time and verify what they are paying for before they leave, I have been involved in it alot when i was there any finally just quit.

there was so much stuff going on at the time and seems to be now as well with them, there were finaice companys that dropped them for bad business Green tree finace M&I Bank and countless others i cant remember its been a long time since i worked there, i happened to find this website and wanted to shed some light on this for future buyers.
Here is some info on the "muscle" they have working there. Freddy Rollo is Tom's brother-in-law and resides in Massapequa, Tom Corpac another in-law and i think lives in bayshore,
Brother Ed Castellano another owner, lives in West islip and was the owner of another store they had in commack called North shore cycle and marine, but from what i heard it was closed and taken over by a new owner, again they lost it due to there bad business practice's.

As for Ed I dont think he involved in the business anymore, from what i heard yrs back he took off and supposedly embezzled a ton of cash and left. The Castallano family has a bad Reputaion in the car business on Long island which would explain there loss of there new car store in the past, and the other motorcyle store as well. bottom line here is buyer beware, always , and i mean always know what your signing, verify dollar amounts, and product pricing, hope this helps, if anyone wants to respond i can give you alot of info that can help you get some things settled, thanks
