I answered an ad that Lonnie David Murphy (D.O.B. (((REDACTED))) placed in craigslist on Sept 28th, 2015, for a handyman in the Cleveland, Lorain Ohio area. He advertised complete Rehab of home, plumbing and electrical, and he used the phone number in his ad as 440-444-6784.
I had him sign a proposal and email me his Ohio State I.D., and he also required me to wire him $1000 in a bank wire transfer. This seemed ok because I live in CT and how else am I to pay him?
In addition, he had me call Eric Martin (440-506-9471)with American Eagle Construction LLC, to vouch for Lonnie and said that he did work for him in the past. Also, he said that he would be the one that pulls the Buiding Permits. Eric gave me his construction license number. I sent an email to authorize both of them to do an estimate by going to the property and writing it up.
In the end, as soon as I wired the money to Lonnie Murphy on Oct 1st, 2015, on Oct 2nd, when Lonnie Murphy and Eric Martin were supposed to show up a the building Dept to pull permits, it turns out that they never showed up. Neither one is picking up the phone or answering my texts. Lonnie Murphy has absconded with my $1000.
I filed a complaint with the IC3.gov (FBI) this morning. I filed a complaint with Cleveland Police Dept this Past Friday at 6:30pm, but because its after house and the det is off on Mondays, this will not get processed and read until 10-6-2015.
Im upset because these guys took my money and expect they are going to get away with it. I cant afford lawyers to go after them, it will cost more than the $1000 that was stoeln from me.
I feel like Im just dealing with deadbeats.
Please stay away from these guys. They will just take your money and run.

I received a letter from the Prosecuting Atty for Cuyahoga County that states that Lonnie Murphy was charged with Theft Case # 601730-15-CR.
Lonnie is not telling the truth again.
Unfortunately, Lonnie rather spend his energy telling lies rather than repay me the $1000 that he stole.
Until Lonnie Pays me back the $1000 + court costs and fees, I ask that all of you, please dont use Lonnie D. Murphy to do any work for you. In my opinion, he is just going to take your money and run.

Cleveland police was called and I talked to them. No charges filed because. The person making the complaint wrote over the writen agreement. Tryed to add more to the agreement. He wanted me to rehad a complete house for 3,000 dollars.... impossible. He fefused to pull a home owners permit.. which was agreed. He never did. Come to fine out the property was scheduled for demolition by the city of cleveland. After spending 4 days at this house for which the police was there. The city said to stop because home ower who purchased the property was supposed to demo house and sell property only. This is a false complaint against me

I loaned Lonnie Murphy thousands of dollars via notarized legal contract to open a thrift store called Time Of Age in Downtown Lorain. He lost all of my funds and wasted months of my time. He constantly demanded more money without returning anything. He closed the store and disappeared without returning my repeated calls. Now he is looking for a new financial backer to open a bar in Lorain. Please do not give this loser any money he is untrustworthy and a very angry unstable individual. His mother who lives in Vermillion will not even help him. His wife Betty Mellon also helps him with these scams. Do not become an innocent victim away from these crooks at all costs. I will be pursuing legal action in this matter to recover all of my missing funds.
