To all concerned pet owners:
Do not take your animals to this veterinary hospital. I took my cat in because she was having trouble breathing. They kept telling me she had asthma. She was treated for asthma for over two and a half months. She kept having asthma attacks and none of the medicine they gave me helped her. The vets kept telling me it was my fault she kept having asthma attacks.
First, because my mother smoked, and second, because I was probably not giving her the medications properly. I spent over $2,000 moving to a new apartment to eliminate as many asthma triggers as possible. She still kept having asthma attacks. Completely frustrated I took her to UC Davis on my own.
Guess what?? Less than a week later, she was diagnosed with cancer! Not once did any of the vets suggest cancer, nor did they ever test her for it. She is now undergoing chemotherapy and is doing well. She suffered unnecessarily for over two months.
Loomis Basin took over $4,500 from me and did not diagnose my cat correctly. They were grossly negligent, incompetent and cruel to my cat for making her suffer so long.

I owe my dogs life to LBVC

This is the first time in 16 years of going to and reffering people to LBVC that I have ever heared anything negitive about them! We have two american pitbull terriers and my parents take their 6 cats there as well. Last month my female rescue had to have emergency surgery to remove her uterus that had become infected. The infection was so bad it was already in her bloodstream! (she was already going to be fixed for everyone thinking this is a crazy backyard breeder. We dont believe in breeding to overpopulate the world, causing millions on dogs and cats to be put down every year.) After three and a half hours of emergency surgery my girl was on the road to recovery! And after two nights stay she was able to come home. If it wasnt for the amazing work from every vet, tech, and aid at LBVC my baby girl wouldnt have made it another week! Im not saying it was a hard diagnosis but to say one misdiagnosis is to condem one of the best vets in all of northern California is crazy! Do you have any idea how many people in the U.S. are misdiognosed yearly? If you did you would view Loomis Basin in a very different light. Like I said in the title I owe my dogs life to LBVC and I will truly be forever greatful and a forever client!

After reading this complaint I have to wonder about the validity of Julia's issues. First, I have been using Loomis Basin for 8 years and have never had an inaccurate diagnosis on my pets. Loomis Basin has always treated my pets like they were thier own and the fees are very reasonable for the outstanding quality of service they provide. Second, why would anyone in thier right mind spend $4500 to get a "diagnosis"? If you doubted them wouldn't you go some where else after the first $500? Give me a break, do you have $4500 sitting around to diagnose a cat with asthma symptoms? How much did UC Davis charge? you didn't bother to mention that.
If you allow your mom to smoke in the house there's no wonder your cat has cancer! Maybe you need to go to UC Davis yourself to have them look at your lungs! Sounds like you are an incompetent pet owner if you are going to expose the pet to cigarette smoke!I wonder how much you will pay for the doctors diagnosis for your mother when she starts hacking and coughing! Good luck Julia, you got what you deserve.
