Loudthot, and it's CEO Michael Wilson, hired me to do some improvements to a website for a client they had.
Interesting to note that, although their website indicates this type of work as a specialty of theirs, they had no one on their payroll with the required skills.
I then worked on the website, attending regular meetings with both Loudthot and the IT manager from their client, for 3 1/2 months -- never receiving a paycheck. I should probably not have let it go this long, but with Michael's constant promises of lucrative future work, I was trying to be flexible with them and not be difficult.
When they didn't seem inclined to pay going into the 4th month, I informed them I would no longer be available to work until they gave me some type of paycheck. They stalled for a week before informing me the client had pulled the project because I'd stopped development on it.
When I asked for payment for my services, they told me they would not pay me for my work. After a lot of debate, Wilson finally agreed to pay me $3600 for documentation on the website.
Needing money, I decided to worry about the remainder later and asked them for the check. Wilson then informed me they were "thin on cash" on could not even pay that.
I finally got them to give me a partial payment for $1000 but a month later, they do not seem willing to pay the rest.
Just like that, I'm out between $15 and $20,000. They told me they'd never gotten the client to pay them -- their reason for not having money to pay me; however, I spoke with the client the other day and he said otherwise.
He told me he knew nothing about the whole situation. That he'd paid them already. He was suprised that they had never paid me previously and could not believe I'd only received $1000.
DO NOT go to work for this company. I'm convinced it was a scam all along. They just screwed me out of $20,000 and screwed their client out of the work they expected and would have received. Their lies both to me and the client says everything you need to know about their integrity and how they do business. I wouldn't recommend even hiring them.

#1 UPDATE Employee
Bad Apple miss meetings, deadlines, and never return calls.
AUTHOR: M - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, May 31, 2005
I saw this posting and felt compelled to respond.
From what I can remember, Rand got an advance in cash and a week to take care of family business in the middle on a huge client deadline.
Dispite our willingness to work around his personal issues - he would not show up for weeks at a time, miss meetings, deadlines, and never return calls. He assured everyone that he was making progress and it would all be "done".
When he was finally called on it, he had nothing completed. After our insistance that he complete his contract and do the work so we could pay him, he got angry, actually threatening lives of some of the employees if he didn't get paid (we kept the email). At that point, we terminated the relationship immediately and banned him from the premises.
He never completed anything useable and the client eventually cancelled the contract and we all lost big. He should be thankful to get paid what he did - but, of course, that is my perspective.
We all wish you well Rand.
