Well me and My husband and our 4 children had been cramed into a four door esort for several months. Then we heard about Low book sale.

We just had A bancruptcy a year and a half ago. We really didnt see buying a car in our future especially with a limited income.

Well we got approved from low book sales now dont get me wrong these guys bent over backward to get this car.

The car ran fine we bought in february of 2002. An the heater worked fine we tried the air conditioning as well and it worked fine. Well may came and we wanted to go on a family trip.

So we took the Car in to their so called award winnig service department to have the car checked and have an oil change

well we said the A/C wasnt working so they checked it and it seemed fine he said it needed to be charged so they charged it and change the oil it was fine.

Then on our way to California not even 100 miles from home it broke.. It smelled like it was burning and everytime we turned it on it would screech.

so we turned it off and drove thru the desert like that. Well the bad part is when we got to California we asked a servie guy from an auto shop to have a look he said it was our compressor or our belts or both.

He also stated that who ever fixed the car should have noticed the belts were bad and fixed them without letting us take it.

When I tried to talk to low book about this they were oblivious to the whole situation saying it wasnt their fault I have tried to talk to evryone about this but noone seems to help

It saddens me that this whole thing went the way it did if we would have known the car would cost at least a 1000 dollars to repair we never would have gotten it. Please can someone help me..

LOW BOOK SALES SCUM

AUTHOR: Kenneth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, July 31, 2005

I'm in the Process of making a banner stating Low Book Sales WILL JERK YOU AROUND. They lied to the bank saying that there is parts in your vehicle thare aren't really there.

I would think this is Fraud. I mean after you get 4 salesmen and 4 of them forgeting they talked to you a day before saying now they are a manager and willing to help you and then not help you.

Low Book Sales takes advantage of you and then lies to the bank. I have 4 pages of vehicles and vin numbers that show they have tons of options that they really don't have on it so they could try to get me approved by bumping up the price.

LOW BOOK SALES- THEY WILL JERK YOU AROUND! Bad cars - Bad managers I wish I worked with the owner. My Banner is going on my Car to show everyone in Utah how I feel.

the owner of Low Book Sales has been so used to coming up with explanations for the poor quality of his vehicles

AUTHOR: Daniel - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, November 29, 2003

I coulden't help but notice that the rebuttal submitted by the owner for your particular situation is the same as the one in Matt's case
submitted a few months earlier. The only difference in the two is one is paragraphed differently. You are even referred to as "matt".

This demonstrates to me that the owner of
Low Book Sales has been so used to coming up with explanations for the poor quality of his vehicles that it has become a consistant routine for him and his staff. Well, that or he is a schitzophrenic and everyone he comes in contact with is named Matt and is throwing papers all the time.

Oh yea, and if poor Matt is still trying to achieve some kind of victory in his public relations battle to get word out about low book,do not fret. I was contemplating doing business with low book, but after hearing about your dillema, as well as the other posted on this site, I have decided NOT to purchase a vehicle from that particular establishment. And I have 9,000 dollars and change ready to go. Unfortunately each of you had to learn the hard way, but as a result many others can learn the easy way.

completely satisfied with my purchases.

AUTHOR: Jamie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, October 17, 2003

I also bought a car at Low Book Sales, in fact... I bought two in the same day from them. I want to say that I have been nothing more than completely satisfied with my purchases.

Every member of the Low Book Sales team was extremely curteous and genuinely interested in me not only as a "potential buyer" but also as a person.

I have purchased vehicles at other "big dealerships" where after all you know the guy... but I wasn't treated with half the respect and deserved attention that I was graciously given at Low Book Sales. ( And when I went into the other "big dealership" I walked in with a cashiers check made out for $70,000.00 free and clear, and still wasn't respected like I was at Low Book Sales.

I am not a dealer, or the family member of anyone that works for Low Book Sales, I am just a young mother of 4 small children, that joins many many other happily satisfied customers of Low Book Sales.

Used car purchases are risky, so if that is the route you take, you need to be well informed, someone who asks questions - questions the answers, and one who is willing to take the vehicle you are interested in, to your own trusted mechanic.

#4 Consumer Suggestion

Any part can break at any time...

AUTHOR: Mike - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 18, 2003

Sounds like the original deal wasn't a rip-off. The car worked when you got it and outlasted the 60 day warranty. That's really pretty good for a sub-prime used car. Since the car basically still goes, you are doing much better than many people here.

If the car is old enough to use R-12 "freon" in the air conditioner (before 1994 or so), beware of improper substitutes. Environmental laws have made R-12 very expensive. It's very tempting in the used car business to use an "substitute" or "drop-in replacement" gas to get the air conditioner working if the R-12 has leaked out. These substitutes are chemically much different from R-12 and often ruin the compressor after a while. And since they only needed the air conditioner to work long enough to get the car sold, they didn't bother to fix the leak either. This is quite likely what happened with your car, since it needed to be recharged after you bought it, and then the compressor failed. So ask them exactly what they recharged it with.

#3 REBUTTAL Owner of company

stand behind every car for 60 days after the purchase

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 18, 2003

Mr. Matt purchased his car and signed all the documents including an installment contract from the lender that approved his loan. He also gave Low Book Sales $1,000 down toward his purchase. He did not drive the car he purchased home the day he bought it because he had another car with him. Mr. Matt is the one who is dishonest. He signed a legal binding contract with a local Bank and acts like he has no intention of honoring it. Low Book Sales is not a Bank; they are a high volume car dealership. They stand behind every car for 60 days after the purchase. If someone purchases a car, gets a loan through a local bank, the dealer does everything they promised, why should the dealer pay off the bank and take the car back. Mr. Matt read all paperwork prior to signing it. Low Book Sales does not decide what someone's interest rate will be. They can get rates as low as 4.5% APR fixed. Rates are based on the customers credit and the bank decides the rate. If Mr. Matt is upset about his interest rate, why did he sign the contract? Low Book Sales, sales over 300 cars per month and tries to make every customer happy. We would consider unwinding Mr. Matt's purchase but he came in using profane language and threw his papers all over the dealerships show room. Perhaps he should consider reading the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People"

#1 Consumer Suggestion

You bought a used car

AUTHOR: Alan - ()

POSTED: Sunday, September 15, 2002

It is easy for one shop to say what another SHOULD have seen or done. Unless the California shop was there in Utah when the car was inspected, they really don't know what the car looked like. You also state you would not have bought the car if you knew it needed $1,000 worth of work. That is world of used cars. What did you expect?
