I thought it was time to join in talking about low book sales because so many of my friends have been ripped off.  I bought a car with my husband in late 2009 and I have to say that Low Book, according to all the ripoff car scams I've read about, practices them all.  The only reason they don't get an F rating from the Better Business Bureau is because people like me have been afraid to come forward because of the need for a car.  Jody, the sales manager, and Eric, the "finance manager" are liars and they teach their employees how to do it just like them.  We went into Low Book Sales and found a Suzuki that we were interested in.  The Salesman talked about how easy it is to get the car for 200.00 per month and led us into Jody's office to discuss financing.  We signed an agreement that put our payment a little above that and took the car home, thinking we had signed a loan and that was it.  Within 2 weeks we got a call saying that no one would finance us except Prime acceptance and that would be at 25%, making our payment 350.00 instead of the 200.00 the corrupt salesman told us.

After reading these boards I found that they actually don't really find financing but stick you with either Prime Acceptance (owned by them but not disclosed) or Prestige Finance (rated F by the BBB).  We were so desperate and wanted to walk away but they threatened us because we had signed a contract and it was "legal"  so they would come after us.  We thought we had no choice and agreed to it, barely being able to make the payments.  We talked with a friend and there are choices for us and for you!  Call the better business bureau, file a complaint.  Call the division of consumer protection and file a complaint.  Call the division of consumer protection and file a complaint.  Call the news stations and state how you have been ripped off by this corrupt company!  Together, we can all get rid of these scumbags.  Also, if you hear from their "objective" PR director Travis he is just as much a scumbag as the rest and is listed as one of the cronies on the BBB website.  Don't listen to their catchy commercials.  Go to the BBB website and send a letter to their owner to talk about how scummy they are.  Eventually the state may get involved and shut these pieces of garbage down!  They all get rich because we have bad credit and will do anything to sell a car.   If we all work together we can expose them for the crooks they are!

Very Bard Thinking!

Let's get one thing straight...the reason they have an "F" "rating" by the BBB is because they haven't PURCHASED A BETTER RATING!  The BBB is a COMPLETE SCAM.  Anybody and I mean ANYBODY can buy a "membership" and anybody and I mean ANYBODY can buy whatever "accreditation" they want to buy.  The BBB is NOT a government agency, the BBB has zero enforcement power...the BBB is NOTHING!  The main purpose of the BBB is to sell PHONEY ACCREDITATIONS just like there are places which sell phoney college diplomas.

There's a difference between "corrupt" and "subprime".  You are right they should not have told you $200 if they couldn't back it up.  But 25% interest is typical when financing a subprime credit risk...it happens all the time.  But you said you signed a contract.  What did the contract say?

What did you expect....

Did you expect to get 4% or 6% financing? I bought my irst car from Low Book. I was gratful to have got a loan, it was 19% but I was going to build my credit. A year later I refinanced my car for 8%. You end upat Low Book if 1) you have no credit or 2) you have bad credit. You get bad credit by not paying bills. Would you trust someone with your money that had shown no history of paying anyting on time or at all? They have to gaurentee thee money. If someone defaults they have to pay to repossess, they already paid the staff, and most of the time the vehicle will come back in worse condition then when it left. To make up the difference they must charge a high interest rate to everyone overcome losses. Be gateful to get a loan because Low Book is a last option for those with bad credit. You re crazy to think that you should get a better rate with bad credit.
