*** BEWARE - THEY CHARGE A 'WEST COAST SURCHARGE' ***
But you won't find that term on their order form.

Billing Issue (KMM22514819I30L0KM)

07/06/09 check# 3411 cashed for $33.85 for order off cateloge ID 876.  Used the order form from that cateloge.

07/15/09 received notice that 1/2 of order shipped and rest will be
shipped later.  Absolutely nothing was said about why the other item was not shipped.

08/01/09 sent letter requesting status by 08/31/09.  Heard nothing.

09/01/09 sent letter requesting status by 09/15/09.  Heard nothing.

09/17/09 my daughter called and spoke with Maricella on my behalf. Was informed order was being held on a 90 cent shortage. Maricella said she'd email to have rest of order released on the following Monday.  She also said that Lakeside Collection charges a 'West Coast Surcharge' in addition to the shipping charges and tried to said that UPS makes them pay this.  I called UPS and they say they have no idea what a 'West Coast Surcharge' is and that they don't charge extra to ship from IL to CA.  This 'West Coast Surcharge' is not listed on their order form either.

09/17/09 my daughter went on their website and contacted them to recap and followup on the problem.  She also threatened to file a complaint with the FTC and BBB if company continued to ignore the problem.

09/23/09 email from Lakeside Collection (Kristy Gomez) apologizing about their slow response.  They waived the balance they said was owed (which now was stated at 95 cents verses the 90 cents they said in the phone contact before).  There was a definate tone of arrogance in the email with the attempt to avoid any admittance of error on their part.

10/05/09 the other item I paid for finally arrived, 3 months after it was ordered.  They tried to charge another shipping charge to send the missing item in the included invoice.  I wrote them a check for the 90 cents they originally said I was short to pay them off.  I'm not paying another full shipping charge because of their ineptness.

10/08/09 my daughter sent them an email on my behalf to tell them to take me OFF their mailing list and express my extreme disgust with their total lack of follow through and communication unless they're threatened with a complaint to the FTC and BBB.

We apologize for our oversight and errors

AUTHOR: Cathy Bauer - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, October 08, 2009

Dear Jean,

I deeply regret the lack of service and attention you experienced from us.  I am so sorry I was unable to reach by phone today.  I did leave a voice mail earlier to apologize for all of the delays and problems you encountered on this order.

We value each one of our customers, and truly regret when we dont live up to your expectations or our own standards.  The problem you recently encountered was completely avoidable and I regret that we did not take better care of your order, or your subsequent requests.

We have removed you from our mailing list.  I am saddened that our lack of attention to your concerns led you to this decision.

I will continue to reach out to you again, in an attempt to not only apologize directly to you, but to assure you that we take customer feedback seriously.  I hope that you do find some small satisfaction in knowing, that with the insight that customers like yourself provide, we do make improvements to avoid repeating our errors.

Most Sincerely,

Cathy Bauer
