Mr Sosa takes professional photographs at dogs shows. He does not let people know that he charges a $20.00 sitting fee even if you choose not to buy the photograph. The photographers he employs do not tell you how to change how the dog is arranged in order to take the best photo possible. They only take 1 picture. I have had pictures taken by this photographer and have never purchased one because they are so lousey. When I have a dog that wins, I have a photo taken because I am proud of that win. I have paid all photographers that I owe.I want a good picture. I have returned the bad photos and have asked Mr Sosa to waive the $20 sitting fee due to the poor quality of his work. I have not had any photos taken of in over a year, due to his poor work.
I have now received a bill from a collection agency for $49.50. I called the collection agency and the gentleman I spoke to could not believe that this type of debt was placed with them and advised I should just pay the bill. Yes of course I can pay the bill but he will get paid for photos that I don't have and do not wish to have.
I will be filing a formal complaint with the dog show clubs that hire him. I have also spoken to many other show people that do not like his way of doing business, not his quality of work. I will be mounting an active boycott with all the dog show people I can and will ask anyone that has a complaint with Mr Sosa to file a rip off report, and file complaints with the kennel clubs that hire him.

He can sell his photos all he wants but he should NOT force people to pay him for his mediocre work. His photographs could be taken by a point and shoot camera and probably look just as good. I am not responsable to pay off his equipment that he cannot use. I have never had to deal with someone who is forcing you to pay for bad work.
Which by the way he doesn't bother to tell you he will charge you a cancellation fee.
What a scam.

I had a similar problem with Mr. Sosa

My poodle won at the Fort Worth Show, TX March, 2011 and my handler took dog to make picture.
I have had several pictures taken by this photographer and have had several not too good. I buy them, but last was just terrible! I returned photo at once with explanation. The picture was so bad, so poorly arranged, that I could not even put it up on the wall or use it for advertising. The dog was not stacked correctly; the judge and handler were looking down. Terrible work! He makes it so quickly & snap the photo without telling someone if they need to look another way or re-stack the dog. Look like he does not care what he is doing
Now 7 month later I received first reminder of unpaid photo. Never had such experience with other photographers. I tell my handler NEVER deal with this photographer again. He is unethical, rude, and unprofessional!

Sosa took my son's photo when he won in Open Junior Showmanship last Spring with our dog. We REALLY disliked the photo he hastily took of our son looking down to adjust his tie instead of waiting for him to look into the camera and smile. What in the world was he thinking?? My son was so upset when he saw the results he shoved it back into the envelope, and asked us to not show it to ANYONE. I returned the picture only to have a collection agency send me a notification for a delinquent "sitting fee" that Sosa NEVER told us about six month after I returned the photo. What was extremely upsetting was I negociating a mortgage loan at the time, and this collection of a mere $20 was reducing my FICA score. My husband is furious with this persons lack of business ethics, and has given me strict instructions to NEVER deal with this person again. I did settle with the collections agency to get them off my credit file, but I wish that I had stuck to my guns and told them where to go. LET THIS BE A LESSON to all who do business with this man. He is totally unethical, rude, and unprofessional. NEVER AGAIN..

Luis Sosa Is Very Difficult To Deal With

I have been purchasing photos from dog show photographers for several years including from Mr. Sosa. I had to purchase his photos as I needed them for advertising purposes (and had the advertiser lighten/darken) but enough is enough. I will no longer have Mr. Sosa take photos of my dogs for the following reasons; they are 99% of the time lousy photos (my dogs are black), and he still charges a $20.00 fee regardless if you purchase the photos or not but he doesn't have a sign posted nor is his policy printed in the show catlogs to my knowledge. There are many other photographers out there that are considerate of the exhibitors, are happy to oblige them and recognize that the photo signifies a special memory and make an effort to take a nice photo or "dr" it in the lab if it is over or under exposed. Luis Sosa in my opinion churns out inferior work compared to other dog show photographers and he has a terrible attitude.

Luis Sosa photography has taken photos of my dogs since 2005. They have always been very good. Infact I just got a my Metarie Dog Show photo this week and it was the best ever. I was so please I took it next dog to my neighbor who's a well know photographer in Austin who's photographed presidents. Her words were "stunning". Every aspect of girl's beauty, character and grace were captured. I've been very pleased with Luis and only found him more than accommodating. There are no charges if one does not wish to purchase. I think someone may have bad information.
