I have routinely taken this vehiche in to this service department just about every 3,000 mile since I bought it there. I did after all purchase an expensive maintenance police. I have been having an oil change every 3,000 mile in accordance with the dealers sticker placed in the upper left hand corner of the car. unfortunately after about 18 month the oil change maint portion of the police ran out......it appears that the manufacture of the Jeep only recommend an oil change every 6000 miles, however the dealers service department have been putting a 3000 sticker in my windshield ... now I know it is my responsibility to know the manufactures recommendation, however, this was and out right deception just to increase profitability....
also, I just learned from this same service department that my rear break rotors will have to be replaced they claim they can not be machined , all of a sudden i hear scraping noises coming from my rear break, It seems that when i brought the jeep in every 3000 miles for the unneeded oil change they did not even check the pads???? this is very unusual and suspicious, and or incompetence now I have to spend almost $500 on a 32,000 mile jeep

Fortunate for me the service manager did no focus on a few misspelled words in frustration ; he instead offered his condolences and agreed on the substance of the complaint and took care of the problem at the dealers expence. Boy am I glad their are people out there who focuses on the important things. By the way I did leave a few misspell words in this rebuttal. See if you can find them. It would be very amusing to read your research.

An oil change does not include a brake inspection or several other inspections and service items that should be checked occasionally.
Please have a Chrysler dealer do a "Peace of mind inspection" (TM Chrysler) or an independent repair facility do an equivalent inspection at least yearly.

First of all, its "POLICY" and not "police". The "police" are those nice gentlemen in sunglasses who drive the cars with the pretty lights, blue and red. Its "BRAKES" and not "breaks". If the car suddenly separates as you drive down the road with you driving one part and the other part moving by itself, then you have problems with the "breaks". Having said that...you apparently received an oil change every 3000 miles. That's ok! 6000 seems a little high but at 3000, nothing was harmed and you exceeded the requirements in a positive way. Nothing wrong in that! In regards to this maintenance contract, do you actually know what you bought? If you get routine maintence for free then what's the big deal? If you have to pay for routine maintenance, what good is that contract? Are you sure you are not confusing this with an extended warranty? If you actually have an extended warranty, then I urge you to have an independent mechanic determine what you have and what it covers. Without full disclosure of that here, there's little more comment which can be made.
