 My name is Rickey I was one of the lead contractors on this project. In the demo picture posted by the owner (Vince) which was day 1 of the demo, we took up the old kitchen floor tiles without damaging any of them to then be reused in the bathroom, as they were cream in color and did not match the rest of the homes original wooden flooring, I laid ceramic wood effect tiles in the kitchen to give the flow with the rest of the home as the kitchen was opened up to give more surface area, as the original kitchen was extremely small. The design included fitting an Island and more cabinetry. I hung the dry wall in the kitchen and living area, we added a Master Bathroom off the newly created Master Bedroom making the home a 3 bed 2.5 bath, from a 2 bed 1.5 bath, I repaired 3 roof leaks caused by large tree overhangs that resulted in dead branches falling and puncturing the roof, he was advised by Miss Jeffrey to have the trees cut back to avoid further issues, which he did. He was also advised by Miss Jeffrey to have a home inspection done at the property, which amazingly he had not done prior to purchasing the home?

As their was a huge amount rodent feces and some wood damage indicating their may be termite damage, sure enough the report revealed the home was infested by rodents and termites and the owner (Vince) had to have the home tented and gassed before we could start work. The owner (Vince) is a control freak who micro manages everything, and for a man who claimed to be an experienced flip home investor! He had little clue of what to do or indeed any idea of a budget for a complete home renovation, including the addition of a Master Bedroom & Bathroom, this was a mid century home and certainly not in the best shape, it needed a complete rewire and change of fuse box to bring it up to code, the plumbing was old and leaking and out of code, the work was almost completed on the plumbing and electrical when the owner (Vince) ran out of money and took us all off the job. He walked in and made changes to the work without consulting Miss Jeffrey who he hired to create the new design, he then argued with her in front of me after she had to have the changes rectified to keep the flow and continuity, and to accommodate the new design, this cost us time and money, he was always nickel and diming the project, paying his installments late and not to the original contract resulting in long delays to get materials and labor, miss Jeffrey was paying us from her own money while waiting for the owners funds. He also asked us to install battery operated smoke detectors, not the code hardwired ones, we refused to do this as it is illegal, he also asked miss Jeffrey in front of me and her Husband to put blue dye in the swimming pool, to avoid having the pool cleaned and acid washed as it needed, miss Jeffrey refused and had the pool emptied cleaned and acid washed, he refused to have the pool filled or to purchase a cover to protect the new paint etc. Miss Jeffrey got a cover but he never had it put on, every opportunity he had to block progress he did thinking he knew best, it is almost like he wanted to get the least amount of money for the home when it is sold, he is certainly the most difficult awkward and rude man I have come across while contracting.

The owner says in a review she only used relatives to do the work, as I understand it she used her Father for the electrical and plumbing work because he is certified and she trusted him to do the best work for her, the landscaper, kitchen cabinet maker, laborers and myself are all unrelated to her, though I knew her Father from years back. I have to say the design miss Jeffrey came up with was fantastic, personally speaking she did a great job putting up with this guys crap. As I understand it when he ran out of funds she offered to leave the fee money he promised to pay her in the job to help get it finished and she would take it when the home was sold, apparently he refused? I worked on the project until the day before thanksgiving, my opinion is 2 weeks we would have had the job completed and handed over. As a contractor I know the cost of a complete home remodel, new electrical and plumbing throughout, adding a Master Bedroom & Bathroom, custom cabinets, granite, new kitchen and 2.5 bathrooms, stainless appliances, new lighting, dry walling most of the home, new flooring, not to mention front and back yards and a pool renovation, miss Jeffrey advised the owner (Vince) in front of me and her Husband that $25,000 would not nearly be enough to do the whole house, and dependent on what was found during the demo and scope of works required it could easily be more than double that for the specifications noted above, the owner (Vince) agreed, as I understand it also confirmed that in writing, so to get a complete home remodeling done to a 1950's home for $35k is absolutely crazy!

I feel for miss Jeffrey she did all the work on the project, research, hiring, purchasing, coordinating, budgeting even when not being paid the funds due, running around, and kept the job going for 4 days after she was fired by the owner (Vince) for lack of funds, despite him agreeing to pay her what he owed her in front of me and her Husband, she has not had a penny! I have seen the posts he has put up about miss Jeffrey and her family and the kitchen cabinet maker I am disgusted and astounded! The man is playing victim for his own actions? If you do not have enough funds to do a complete renovation do not start one! In fact do not buy a home without having an inspection done on it, really intelligent that! He would have known about the infestation, home not in code, the roof leaks, lead paint etc. I would not have purchased this home at all, they saw him coming!
