Buyer beware - the Sales force at the Mayan Palace Resort works directly with a non-existent company called Luxury Resort Management (aka Resort Advertising Network) to scam travelers who sit through their timeshare marketing campaign. We fell for the scam. The Mayan Palace representative promised to sell a timeshare - that we already owned - in order to purchase a week with their company. They promised the timeshare would sell in less than three months.
What actually occurs is the Mayan Palace has you list the sale of your timeshare with 'their' company, Luxury Resort Management, and pay a fee of $399 for the listing. THIS COMPANY DOES NOTHING TO SELL YOUR TIMESHARE and their website is blank! Each month we called and after a lot of hassle were told that "several prospective buyers were interested in our property". Six months later - no sale and no contact by the company or any representative.

The resort itself seems very nice, the sales pitch, however, is pure high-pressure sales. The sales people are snakes, their only motive is greed. They have no concern for what is ethical and will “brow beat” you to make their money. It was not worth the free breakfast and $50.00 dinner coupon. When I finally got up to walk away from the table, Luis got in my face and began to argue with me, telling me I couldn’t leave until he said the presentation was over. I continued to walk away as I raised my voice at him. You would think that that would be the end of it, but they will continue to pass you to the next person for a “survey” which turns into another sales pitch…these people are shameless. If you agree to attend the 90 minute presentation you will regret it.Search online for Mayan Palace Timeshare Scams for other “horror stories”.

My husband Earl and I took a vacation to Mexico. What appeared to be a relaxing trip, turned in to a nightmare when we were invited to a Free Breakfast for ninty minutes and talked to a real scam artist who convice us to purchase a $36.000 US two Bedroom unit we dont need with a scamming investment pitch. we would rent each week for $2.500 and have it paid for it in three years. We sign a waiver rescinding our 5 day cancellation right.
Days later, when we got back and started searching for Mayan Palace, we realized that we were dumb enough to fall for a scam. We called to cancel and nobody from Mayan Palace will accept our petition or return our calls.
While searching online, we found a law firm from Mexico and decided to hire them. They cancelled our contract and reimburse our down payment.
It won't hurt to call them and use their free consultation. Here is the link:
