Management hit me up for a "hidden" $35.00 appliance rental fee 24 days after I already signed the lease and moved in (supposedly it's due on the 1st of the month). Though there was never a discussion about it before, during, or after signing my lease.
What a con job, and a crappy way to do business!
There is no provision in my lease for an additional appliance fee. Matter of fact, my contract clearly states there can be no changes or increases in rent or fees during the length of the contract.
This place is a joke, and I would ask you to do some research about Lynd and find another property immediately!!!
My company will gladly pay for your application somewhere else!

It's the Lynd Company's policy to screw their renters in every way possible.

I live an apartment complex (Timberlinks) in Denton, Texas, that's managed by the Lynd Company. The residents here have had problems with hidden charges too, so obviously, finding new and improved ways to nickel-and-dime their renters is a widespread Lynd Company policy.
One of the things that had initially appealed to me about living at Timberlinks is that the apartment complex is located next to a golf course. When I first started living here, we could play for free. Since Lynd has taken over, they've started charging the residents here to play on our own golf course.
There have been several other unexpected fees as well. After I had first moved in, my water bill was between $10-$20 per month. Now, the water bill is split between everybody in the apartment complex and my bill has gone up to over $35 per month. I believe that one of the reasons for this is because Lynd wastes so much water. Some of the sprinkler heads look like they're broken but they continue to water with them anyway. More water ends up in the parking lot than ends up on the grass but the Lynd people don't really seem to care because they aren't paying the bills we are. I think that they are also making the residents pay to water the golf course now too (which is really unfair if you think about it because we can no longer use the golf course for free like we could with the previous management company).
A few months ago, Lynd started charging everyone a monthly $45 "convenience fee" for having cable. We are already paying the cable company (Primecast) for service, so I don't understand how Lynd can justify double-billing everyone like this. There has also been talk of them charging $15 per vehicle per month just to park in our own parking lot when we could always park here for free before.
Understandably, there are quite a few residents here who are upset with Lynd right now because they keep dumping all of these extra costs on us and then they expect us to just happily pay for everything, no questions asked. Complaining to the office staff does absolutely no good - most of them have no idea what's going on or if they do have an answer for you, they'll all tell you something different. I haven't been able to get any answers from Lynd's regional manager either. Because of all of these billing issues and because of several other problems that I've had with Lynd ever since they took over management of the Timberlinks, I will not be renewing my lease. I can't wait to get as far away from these people as possible.
