On Jan. 2nd 2014 we purchased a 7 week old Newfie pup from Linda.  He seemed a little small to me but She assured us that Stormy would grow to be a big strong boy.  4 days later he died in Hospital hooked to i V's.  She told us he had all his wormings and his shots, and that we did not have to take him to vet for another 18 days.  In the contract it states he has to be seen by Vet within 48 hours.  I took him to the Vet the very next day.  Upon examination He weighed only 5lbs. On the AKC papers she put 10 lbs.  He should have weighed at least 15 pounds by that age.  He was treated for Roundworms. And was given a special diet and vitamins. That was on the 3rd of Jan.  the very next day after the Vet. He started to pass Huge Adult Round worms and started to get weaker.  Back to the Vet we went. He was a little dehydrated from all the loose bowel movements.  Was treated.  We informed Linda Ward of all that was going on.  She again assured us all would be fine and was very defensive and getting quite agitated.  We continued with his treatment.  All that weekend he passed worms.  Then he developed bloody diarehea.  Back to the Vet Monday Morning.  He was admitted. Immediately put on IV/s. He died that night.  He died from severe intestinal parasites, Coccidia, and Anemia.  The worms ate him alive.  She knew he was not treated for worms and that he was dying when she sold him to us.  What should have been a happy, joyous expierance turned into a nightmare.  Now we not only do not have our little Sromy, but we we are out the money we paid for him and the vet bills which is over several thousand dollars.  WhenI told her of Stormy's death and that she at least give us our money back for what we paid for him.  She Hung up.  We weren't even asking for the vet bills.  We are not the only people to have been burned by her.  She will not take any responsibility,  Stay clear of this so called Newfoundland Breeder.

Hi there we picked up our pup from Linda on the 10th of February 2015. He seemed healthy but had coccidia and hookworm. The vet has treated him and he seems to be doing well. I have spoke with others in groups who have had horrible experiences. If you have any further info or want to contact me, I'm on facebook as Ray Eklund. I have serious doubts that the paperwork she porvided is legit.

Unhealthy Puppy

AUTHOR: NewfieLover14 - ()

POSTED: Thursday, December 18, 2014

I purchased a puppy from Linda Ward at Lynn Kay Kennels on April 6, 2014 (8 weeks). Since day one, he has had health issues — he had diarrhea and when we called Linda, she said she never checked him before he left. We have been treating digestive issues the entire 8 months so far – he is on a limited diet due to these issues. He has also been treated for worms, has poor conformation, and recently was diagnosed with Ectropion and Elbow Dysplasia. I contacted Linda previously about his behavioral issues as well (he went to puppy school and was seeing a trainer) and her response was that I needed to “fill a milk jug up with rocks and hit him in the head hard enough to knock him to the ground” so that he stops misbehaving. I’m wondering if that is why he has behavioral issues — did she do that to him when he was in her care and he has brain damage? After the recent medical issues, I reached out to her and she told me she would replace my puppy because he is less than one year. I would never give a family member back, especially knowing how she would treat him. She became defensive when I inquired about his family history. She told me not to spend another penny on treating him because it is a waste of money and she “never puts money into her dogs.” What kind of breeder says this? She recently turned off posting on her Facebook page due to likely negative comments — she doesn’t want her potential customers to see them. I asked Linda for a refund of my $1800 so I could continue treating his medical conditions. She said she would never refund my money and I just happened to get a “bad puppy.” Again, she offered a replacement, but why would anyway get another puppy from a breeder that breeds unhealthy dogs? This woman is out of her mind and should be shut down — she seems to be running a puppy mill and doesn’t care about the health of her animals. Shameful.

Please contact me, we have had the same issue

I am writing because my family is going through very similar issues. Our wonderful Newfy pup, Grizzly, is just over a year old. When we got her, Linda required us to pay more than the quoted price because she was a "show dog" that was going to be saved for breeding because of her perfect hips, etc. Grizzly has had numerous medical issues that have cost my family over $5,000 to help treat. She has inflamatory bowel disease, her third eyelid has prolapse of the tear gland, and bilateral elbow displacia. We are gathering all of the information from her vets to file a complaint with the ACC; however, are also considering other options, legal if necessary. Lynn Kay Kennel should not be breeding dogs. You can find me on Facebook at Jake Pierre Ainciart.

Inhumane Treatment of Newfs

AUTHOR: Cdubs - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, June 04, 2014

Visited Lynn Kay Kennels in Mt. Morris Michigan to possibly purchase a puppy.  This place is disgusting, filthy and complete with a sick bay for her Newfs.  I was so disgusted by the feces in the kennels and caked on the animals and infections in their eyes i left and contacted the Humane Society who visited her the next day and found the conditions acceptable.

This lady needs to be stopped and the animals in her custody need to be rescued.  The conditions are deplorable and the dogs are sick...clearly people have purchased sick puppies.  In addition, she reported that she has several other animals at the homes of relatives nearby, I assume to avoid the violation of capacity at her kennel.  In addition, she reported she has had some very severe herpes, aids and other very serious health breakouts at her kennel.  We need to legislate better laws in Michigan to protect innocent animals and stop breeders that have a blatent disregard for animals and their welfare and seek only to profit from their suffering!  Very upset and will continue to find a way to stop this activity!!!!

She is breaking the law

AUTHOR: Debby - ()

POSTED: Saturday, May 10, 2014

It is illegal to sell a puppy under 8 weeks of age in Michigan.  My puppy from her was also 7 weeks (and 4.5 pounds) and dying of pneumonia caused by a congenital disease.  She backdated the paperwork, but I remembered when she called me to tell me the pups were born that I had put a deposit on and sure enough that is the original date crossed out on the paperwork.  Two of the puppies in his litter had died of pneumonia but she blamed it on a wet, cold weekend we had had and I didn't know any better at the time.  He also was bald around his eyes which was caused by a fungus that I now know preys on weak immune systems.

My puppy was deathly ill for over 6 months (and still has issues) and I have spent over $9000 on his care. He is stunted because of his illnesses and cannot swim becauseof the danger of aspiration and pneumonia.  When he was diagnosed with megaesophagus which is genetic she refused to stop breeding the parents.

She also lied to me about the parents being OFA certified.

She has offered me a replacement puppy only but I do not want another sick puppy.

You should contact the USDA as she is in violation of selling puppies under 8 weeks.
