Lynne, hired us to transport a horse for her from Ill to Wis. She also told us she wanted to sell the horse. We asked her how much she wanted for the horse she said $1000.00. We said that we would look at the horse and see if we could use it.
We got to the place in Ill to pick up this horse and he was a monster really mean and wanted to kick and bite you so we told Lynne that we did not want the horse she said ok bring him to me then so we called her the next day to tell her that we were on our way and she said to bad he is your horse now send me the $ I said Lynne we told you we did not want him at all. She said to bad he is yours send me the money.
We have now had the horse for 3 months and she still will not take the horse back.

#2 Consumer Suggestion
Storage Fees

Send her a bill for storage of the horse, food bills, vet bills, etc. If she owned the horse, it is probably on record somewhere, and if you didn't buy the horse, she has no proof she sold it to you! This can be taken to court as well if she refuses to pay!

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Looks like you got yourself a horse!

If I have a customer who doesn't want to pay for the repairs on their vehicle, I place a lien on it and sell it. Most states require livestock to be registered. If so, see if you can place a lien on the horse and sell it yourself to reimburse you for the transportation costs and subsequent boarding fees. Good luck.
