I had a fraudulent charge made on my Macy' American Express credit card Labor day weekend 2015. It has not been settled and they expect me to pay an additional 200 hundred dollars in interest and fees. They told me that I should not pay the charge since I did not make it then they rejected the claim after sitting on it for 6 months because they said that they did not have enough information.
In regard to the following problem, I have recently written letters both to the Frau...d department and Macy's in addition to placing
multiple phone calls involving wait times over an hour with no resolution. Have filed a police report. No replies to any paperwork submitted to the fraud department. Is there a way to sue American Express? Can they be taken to small claims court?
They refused to remove a fraudulent charge from my Macy's card and after 7 months the charge has increased from $140 to $350. I called the original vendor and I cannot find out what the charge was for. They have no record of anything being send to my house. This is usually the hallmark of a fraudulent charge.
The Fraud department sent the charge back to collections so I am expected to pay all these charges plus interest and fees for something that I did not buy.
Over a 6 month period, I have spent at least a day's worth of hours on hold with the credit card's Fraud department. One day I was on hold for 1 hour, then they hung up and so I called back. I was on hold for another hour and half until someone picked up. Even when you actually reach someone the fraud department, you cannot talk to anyone who actually has knowledge of the case. That is another level away. They just take a message and obviously do nothing.
DO NOT APPLY OR CARRY THE AMERICAN EXPRESS CAR THEY COMPANY AND ARE ABOUT TO GO DOWN THE TUBES. THEY WILL RUIN YOUR CREDIT OUT OF SHEER LAZINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
