MADEMOISELLE WOMEN FITNESS AND DAY SPA Inconsiderate to workers, lackadaisical attitude concerning paydates, no formal memo of apology... St. Catharines Ontario

I would like to inform the public -especially those who are truely concern about the ripoff of part-time workers-about my dissatifaction with Mademoiselle Women Fitness and Day Spa.

March 2009, I resigned from my position as a sales clerk of a well sounded company to work for Mademoiselle Women Fitness and Day Spa as a cleaner. The hours and pay they offered were much better than my former work place, so I decided to take the job at Mademoiselle. During that transitional time Mademoiselle got a new manager-Theresa K. who felt lost about a lot of stuff as I was. For instance I worked for an entire month of April' 09 and have not yet gotten paid. When I made a compliant about why we are getting paid so late especially as a part-time worker, I was told there is nothing I can do about it, that's the way the company pays-ONCE A MONTH. That would not be a problem if the pay really comes on the 15th OF THE FOLLWING MONTH... but NO, the checks come three to four days after the 15th, the management do not inform anyone of these inconveniences and when you decide to speak up...you are seen as a threat to the company for no apparent reason.

One would think that the manager of Mademoiselle (Pen Centre) would understand the struggles of the underdog but she have decided to walk hand in hand with the madness of management-telling me that she's going to post my check in snail mail for me and that if I come to pick it up in person at the Pen, she'll call the security on me...simple because I said, 'if my pay isn't in by this afternoon (Friday 15th) I will freak out because I have no money for the long weekend." She fired me for taking a stand for what I deemed as inconsideration of the management towards the workers- most of Mademoiselle staff at front desk or attending to clients are young people(mostly students) who will wait, half of these kids still leave at home-(which I think they too should not allow such behavior).

I am 43 yr old mother of two.I can't wait like these kids, I have to get my check on time because I have rent, bills, and so forth to pay. Anyway as I made further research about the method of payment by this fitness club...I was not the only one fired for speaking out!!!!!

A form of cleanliness but FAR FROM IT!!!
