So as an unemployed person, every day is a new day to search for jobs. I found a job posting on craigslist and applied and 2 days later I received a phone call from a woman at madison who's who publishing about coming in for a job interview. I went in for my interview and when it was over the woman who had interviewed me said "congratulations, we would love for you to join our team". needless to say i was very happy. she told me that training was going to start on monday (the interview was the previous thursday). She told me that training was unpaid and took 2-3 days but right after training they immediately put you on the phone to start working for payment. I went in for my first day of training and there were 14 other people there to train as well. The owner comes into the training conference room and introduces himself and he tells us that most of us would make it through the training and start work in a few days but a few of us probably wouldn't make the cut. I wasn't worried because i have a lot of sales experience and i have been very successful in the past because I am very good. The training begins and they have us practicing the script that as salesmen we were going to have to use over the phone to make sales. Some of my fellow trainees were good to excellent and a few just plain sucked. the next day about 5 people didnt come back so we were down to ten, then 4 more left before we even began for the day because they had just found out that the training wasn't paid so now there are only 6 of us so we all just assumed that we would all be hired. throughout both days of training the 2 trainers kept giving us constructive criticism so that we could improve, I myself received very little criticism and was told many times that my sales pitch was perfect and that i sounded great, so i had no reason to think i wasn't going to start to work there. Towards the end of training day 2 they took 3 of the 6 (me not included) up to the office to get on the phones and start, to me they said i just needed to practice the 'scripted rebuttals' but that i would get on the phone the next day. the 3 people they took upstairs were 2 black guys and 1 white guy. Both black guys had absolutely no sales experience and they didnt sound very good so it seemed a little strange that they were chosen to get on the phones before me but as long as i was going to start the next day i was fine. The 3 of us left were me (i'm white) a hispanic guy and another black guy. They left the three of us in the room to practice the script so thats what we were doing. The hispanic guy was horrible almost like he couldn't read, the black guy was ok but nothing special. at the end of the day one of the trainers calls the black guy out of the room and the other trainer sits down to talk to me and julio, that was the hispanic guys name. She says to us "i'm very sorry but you two are just not what we are looking for we appreciate you coming in and taking the time but we have no room for you guys but thank you and have a nice day".

so basically they wasted 2 days of my life where i could have been looking for a job instead of thinking that i had one. I had canceled 2 other job interviews because they were scheduled for times during which i was training for my supposed new job but they lied. If i wasn't really hired originally i wouldnt have wasted my time with useless training. They also wasted my money that i had to spend to get to and from the office. While some of you might think that I am putting myself up on a pedestal, i know that i sounded much better and had much more skill than two of the black guys that they hired. They continuously praised me during training and then didnt hire me but they did hire 2 much less qualified african americans. Why? Because they didn't have enough non white people working for them. they had just fired a whole bunch of staff members most of whom were black so they needed to replace them

I DIDN'T GET HIRED BECAUSE I AM NOT BLACK!!

I am not a racist, i don't care what your skin color is however, it does piss me off that I got skipped over even though i was more qualified.

But regardless of the race issue, they lied to me and julio 100 times making us think that we had the job which is why we came in and stayed. They wasted our time and money. Also there product is a piece of crap. Don't waste your time with them
