Magazine Services Of America Fraud, Illegal Charges on Credit Card, Never Provided Services Margate Florida

MSA called me impersonating a company that I get magazines from (Blue Whale Publications) and informed me I was eligible for a small discount. They asked me what magazines I received, and if I liked them, and which ones I would change. They would then send me a form in the mail to change my magazines (still under the impression this is Blue Whale Publications). They also said they needed to confirm my credit card information.

Needless to say, I never received a discount from Blue Whale and instead began receiving bills from MSA instead. They were also charging my credit card. I contacted Blue Whale to ask why I was never given a discount, and was told they had no record of contacting me. They also informed me that other customers had complained of the same situation and that MSA was imitating them in order to fraudulently charge people.

I contacted MSA and was treated very badly on the phone. They insisted I owed over $1700 for magazine subscriptions which 1. I never even received and 2. I consented to in fraud, which is illegal.

When I brought this up, they said they had no way of knowing what the operator had told me and that they had paid for subscription services and I owed them money. I don't want their services, but how could they pay for a subscription service if I never received any magazines or filled out the supposed form to receive new magazines? Or consented to them sending me more magazines?

I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau, the FTC, and all the major credit check companies. They have since sent me to collections! I have no idea what to do but I want to get this resolved without giving them a dime.
