Magellan Development,Lakeshore East, Aqua, Parkhomes Bait and switch, deceptive sales staff Chicago Illinois

Now I see that I am not the only unhappy buyer of a Magellan Property. Buyer make sure that you have a very strong and knowledgable attorney before you buy anything pre-construction from Lake Shore East. We were told that only actual owners would be allowed to by condos in our building and now we are finding out that we are 60% rental thanks to many foreign investment groups or flippers trying to make a fast buck and failed, now their only option is to rent or face foreclosure. And on the other hand some bought several condo's with the intent to rent.

The original plan showed a beautiful state of the art fitness center on the first floor with huge square footage, and floor to ceiling windows instead we have a small poorly ventilated room on the second floor with a very small window and if more than 3 people are working out the room quickly heats up and starts to smell. And if you are trying to workout in the weight area you will constantly run into each other( there is no room to move). Also the management office was also to be located on the first floor well good luck finding the office or the manager they are also in a cramped space on the second floor with no window.

The building is like a housing project when it comes to ventilation. If you open a window every other condo in the building is allowed to smell what you are cooking through out the building from the 1st floor to the penthouse.

Dog owners are not allowed to have a seperate elevator and entrance so if you don't mind Fido jumping up on you, or stepping in a little elevator accident then you will do fine. (This was also a promise in the original documents)

We were also told early on that we would have a private park?? That lasted for about a year and then was donated to the City of Chicago Park district. If you check your local crime report there are now a number of thefts in this park,which would not have happened if it were to remain private. And the park is the front lawn for the Parkhomes. (Good luck with break in's Parkhomes)

Good luck to those of you who buy pre-construction from Magellan, Aqua, Parkhomes, Lakeshore East. What you are promised now, do not count on this being the truth in the end. You too will join the many residents suing Magellan!!
