My husband and I are writing this truthful report under Free Speech as afforded to all citizens by the Constitution of the United States of America and upheld by the US Supreme Court.

Before I begin, a word of caution to all readers of this report.  Unless your real estate agent steals your earnest money and leaves the State, do NOT even bother to file a complaint with the Maine Association of Realtors.  They are NOT a government agency.  They are, in fact, a Realtor Friendly Association - whose job it is to Protect their dues paying members - whether they are right or wrong.

The Executive Director and their panel, will find your complaint has no merit, do what they can to dismiss it, and treat you with cold and callous indifference.  They simply do not care for the public.  They are not the ones who got screwed and suffered.  All you will get is mistreatment and more aggrivation.

We are senior citizens on fixed income.  We sold our Georgia home in 2016 and make the horrible mistake of using a real estate agent from Better Homes and Gardens - Masiello Group in Bangor, Maine.  This agent was supposed to be our buyer's agent, but greatly failed us - causing us to buy a home that was overpriced, not located well, and allowed the sellers to leave the home in dirty and damaged condition.

This cost us great financial loss - $60,000 in total.  We also suffered emotionally and physically.  The broker of the Real Estate Firm failed to help us.

We did file a copy of the complaint with the Maine Association of Realtors.  However, it was filed after their 180 day time limit and we were not aware of such a limit.  Also, we were very distressed and too ill to function well.  Also, we did not know we could file such a complaint.  We tried to explain our situation with the Maine Association of Realtors.

Our sincere complaint fell onto deaf ears.  I tried to reason with the Executive Director, but she sent me a nasty e-mail saying she DOES NOT WANT TO BANTER WITH ME.  She also told me that she PUT OUR COMPLAINT IN A LOCKED DRAWER.  I guess she feels it is some kind to TOP SECRET.  They stress Confidentiality as being the reason, but this is juse a fasade to protect their dues paying members.  They will not even tell me if there has been any complaints against this agent and company.

Therefore, unless there has been any disciplinary action taken by the association, you - the public - will never know how many complaints were filed against any agent.  If 10 complaints were filed against any 1 agent, and all 10 were dismissed out of hand, it will seem as if there were NEVER any complaints against any particular agent.  Talk about hiding information from the public!

I told her what I thought of her and her association, but - like water running off a duck's back - she does not care.  I guess it is her job to be rude to people and I see she delights in doing do.

I hope none of the readers has a bad problem with a Maine real estate agent.  If you do, and cannot get satifaction with the broker, do not bother filing a complaint with the Maine Association of Realtors.  If you have money, find a good lawyer and sue them personally.

We tried to find a lawyer, but having no money, we were unable to do so.  We lost $60,000 overall, with the negligent agent, and are now two broke senior citizens.

Broke, but Wiser Now.

A Rebuttal to the "Rebuttal" Filed by Someone Calling Themselves, "Perry Mason"

AUTHOR: Barbara - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 17, 2018

To the person, who wrote this very hurtful and upsetting rebuttal to my RipOff Report against the Maine Association of Realtors:

Anyone reading this rebuttal will know that "Perry Mason" is not your true name.  Too bad you did not have the decency of signing your real name.

I wrote this report because the Maine Association of Realtors failed to handle my complaint against a real estate agent, who was negligent and failed in her duties as a buyer's agent for us.

The report was meant to warn consumers that, when making a complaint to the Maine Association of Realtors or any other such association, they are Not Singing to The Choir, and their complaint may not be taken seriously.  Also, the Maine Association of Realtors is a very Agent Protective Association, and they tend to "side" with the agent and against the citizen.

Your horrible and miserable rebuttal comments are completely uncalled for.  My husband and I suffered a great deal and lot alot of money.

We are within our legal rights, under the Free Speech, 1st Ammendment of the Constituion to file a review.  We also do not want, what happened to us, to happen to any other citizen.

Unfortunately, there are good real estate agents and bad real estate agents.  My husband and I had the bad luck of not getting a good agent, and we were fooled by this agent.

A word to PERRY MASON.  IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY OR HELPFUL TO SAY,  JUST CLOSE YOUR MOUTH AND DO NOT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL.

Signed,

Words of Wisdom

...Any YOU Had Nothing To Do With This, Right?

AUTHOR: Perry Mason - (United States)

Your complaints concern price, bad location and condition. If the price was not to your liking, why did you agree to it? Nobody forced you to buy this house! If the location was not right, why did you agree to buy it? Nobody forced you to buy this house! If the condition is not good...for the THIRD TIME...why did YOU agree to buy it? Did you even bother to use COMMON SENSE and check this property out? The agent in question simply did their job to facilitate the purchase of a property which YOU agreed to buy! You being a senior citizen has NOTHING to do with this and your constitutional rights have nothing to do with this either, so stop trying to play those sympathy cards! YOU agreed to buy this house. Nobody forced you!
