Maine Electric Ripoff your integrity "MAINE ELECTRIC" Mount Vernon Maine

Ken of Maine Electric was hired "verbally" to switch a 100amp service over to a 200amp service. My husband and I were never given an itemized or even a written quote in August 2007. He did give a verbal quote of $1200 for the entire job of new box and running new wire to the house.

After re-reading our contract with our home contractor he had written in that they were running the new wire from the box to the house, so we told Ken and he said he would do the box only, no new quote and we had already given him a check for $600. He did switch out the service box and also took it upon himself to take our old box without permission. My husband had to call him several time to get it back. He would not talk to my husband so I had to call him and he talked to me and I and found out he threw it away and had to retrieve it, we did get that back finally.

John called Ken again, at least 4 times in September asking for an itemized bill, he would not answer his phone or call John back. Ken did finally came to our home on October 20, 2007 and handed me an "itemized" bill that said "Material - $560, Labor - $150". That is not itemized. I told him I didn't know anything about electricity lingo so I would show it to my husband and once he had a chance to look it over, John would call him to talk about the remaining $110.

Ken started calling at 7:00 am on Monday, October 22, 2007 asking for the $110. I didn't answer because I already told him John would call him, I let the voice mail pick up. He call 3 time before I got to my husbands work, so I had my husband call him back on my cell phone (so Ken would answer). My husband was very upset that Ken kept call so my husband was very blunt with Ken and told Ken he was very unprofessional and that he would look over the bill that was given to us on Wednesday (his day off) then get back to him then and hung up.

Ken called me again when I got to my work place (on my work #) and told me that he was upset that John yelled at him and that John was a MORON. I took that very personal. I told him that I was going to speak to my husband about Ken calling him names, especially since he was business owner, and I felt it was very disrespectful of him. Ken then went to my Mothers workplace and told her he was washing his hand of us and that my husband was and IDIOT.

Do not hire this company unless you want to be called lots of names for not reason, and end up with lots of misery. He (KEN) is very intimated by men and will only deal with the wives, and then tell the wife her husband is a mornon. Nice business ethics!
