I have gone on a few of there ghost hunting events. Not knowing anything about this but having an interest.  I had been  duped into paying high prices for events and than finding out the I was scammed.  The event money went into the pockets of the owners of Maine Ghost Hunters.  They were very abrassive upon meeting them. Seemed like that did not want to be there.  It was about the money.  Made claims of being on tv shows but when I later watched the shows.  they were not even in the shows.  They have this plastered all over there website but its not true.  It draws you in because you think you are doing these events with solid reputable people. Nothing more than a total scam and waste of money, Not to mention boring and unorganized.  The owner of the ghosthunting team was plain weird and seemed like she had a people phobia.  Very unpleasant.

I happened upon this rip-off report and I had to speak up. About 4+ years ago I tried joining the group I thought were the Maine Ghost Hunters, but the person I spoke to was very rude. About a year or so later I tried again and was met with a very different attitude. I realised then that whoever I spoke to all those years ago were NOT the Maine Ghost Hunters, but someone else! I have since been on many of there Meet Up investigations and I have never felt so comfortable and welcome. Everyone in the official Maine Ghost Hunters group is awesome. The are always looking to help you learn about the way they conduct their investigations, etc. Maine Ghost Hunters has also, as long as I've been involved with them are always doing things for the less fortunate and the sick. They take the time to educate children and are very active in the community. I believe that this rip-off report was filed under the wrong group and I just had to say something. They are a bunch of wonderful people who are respectful, helpful and welcoming. Perhaps some of the people on here who have a complaint had the same experience with the same people I had my first experience with, and they were not the REAL Maine Ghost Hunters. Keep up the awesome, thought-provoking and enlightening work Maine Ghost Hunters, cuz obviously this rip-off report is bologna!!!

I do not know any of the involved personally.  But I also scheduled to attend the investigation that was set up by the NEG organization.  I have gone to many public investigations at the USS Salem. As there are many teams who hold hunts there.  It always seemed a little disorganized & did not particulary like the team that runs it.  They are not organized and it never felt quite right,  But when I saw that this team was going.  I wanted to go too.  I had attended a couple of their public investigations & they were always well planned.  Another thing I liked was the fact that the team was nice & informative. You feel welcome when attending their ghost hunts.

I booked for the tour.  Money was sent to the organization directly.  I got a receipt & an email thanking me.  It ended up being cancelled due to the payments being lost.  But the team did explain this & even offered an alternative ghost hunt.  At no charge.  Basically it is my understanding that the payment was being hunted down.  I received my refund and also a letter from their owner.  In the letter she apologized for the incovience, gave a complete refund & also invitation to a private ghost hunt.  That was free of charge.  While we did all wait for the refund, it was given and they went beyond that offering amends. I did not experience issues prior.  To be honest this event cost very little.

With any business or organizations you are going to run into issues.  I know that this organization has done  a lot of volunteer work in the community at large. I do know they have raised money & food for the needy. While it was a little upsetting that the event was cancelled.  The team itself was accomadating.  Nothing like the picture painted here.  All of my interactions with Neghost have been professional. I really do not have anything negative to say. The refund could have been a little more prompt but it was refunded.

Both teams seem like good ones.  Perhaps I will join Maine Ghost Hunts on one of their events to get to know them.  There is always another side to the story.  Because I was one of the people that went through this.  I figured I would throww my experience into the mix.

Maine Ghost Hunter's experience.

AUTHOR: Maine Senior - ()

POSTED: Monday, June 24, 2013

I am a senior citizen. I signed up to go to one of their cemetery series in May 2012 in Cape Cod. My sister went with me. We traveled to Cape Cod on a Friday night without knowing details of where or what time we were to meet up with the group on Saturday even though they had indicated I would have the information prior to leaving Maine. Saturday morning we still had not received a message from the group which irritated both my sister and I so we checked out of the motel and headed back to Maine. I sent the group a text message with the opinion the group was disorganized. What did they do? They kicked me out of Maine Ghost Hunter's group.!!!! A 63 year old grandmother who only expressed an opinion and disappointment in the group. Nice people. I agree, they are very unpleasant AND unorganized. I guess anyone who disagrees with them gets the boot. I still think the whole incident is very unprofessional of them.

I can't wait to see what kind of insulting reply they will post now.

I am Kat of Maine Ghost Hunters

AUTHOR: MGH-KatM - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 19, 2013

Hi there,

I'm Kat, co-founder and Team Lead of Maine Ghost Hunters.  This report is false and was fabricated from the New England GHOST organization which was founded, and is currently run, by Amy (Morrison) Rodriguez.  It was fabricated because New England GHOST has a complaint on this website (RipOffReport.com) against them by an unhappy client of theirs, and they obviously think we had something to do with it so they posted this false accusation against us.   We did not have anything to do with it, and we feel it is an unfortunate, yet likely deserving, situation New England GHOST currently finds their organization.   Why?  Because Amy clearly has made so many enemies in the field of paranormal (and beyond) that she doesn't know where these types of complaints are originating, so she starts throwing punches in the dark.

Maine Ghost Hunters is completely 100% open about what we do.

You can find out about our events, and those who have taken part in our events, at www.meetup.com/maineghosthunters   We invite you to go there and talk to ANY of our MGH members.  There are almost 500.

We do not charge "high prices" for any of our events, which can be verified by going to the website and seeing for yourself.   Also, we have donated over $2,000 of our charged fees in the past year, alone, to a cystic fibrosis fundraising campaign, so eluding to the fact that we're scamming people is somewhat of a joke in and of itself.   Check out our YouTube channels (yes, 2 youtube channels) to see our events for yourself.

They are located at
www.youtube.com/maineghosthunters    and    www.youtube.com/zeroluxparanormal

If this complaint was real, which it is not, it would have addressed at least 4 other Maine Ghost Hunters members, because Tony and I are only 2 of the individuals who conduct the events we put on.  We *always* have our team mates with us to direct, lead, and assist their own small groups.   Again, look at our Meetup Page and you can see evidence of this in all of our photo albums, and you can see it on our videos as well.

As far as the false accusation of us making claims of being on TV shows we were never on, it's absolutely ridiculous.   We do not make claims.  We make statements.  Every single statement we have made about being on a TV show is 100% correct.

The TV Shows we have been on:

Animal Planet's "The Haunted" - Tony and Kat were in footage investigating in Maryland.

My Ghost Story - Tony was on an episode with a resident of Bridgton's Homeland Farms, and Kat was on a separate episode with the owner of the Mill Agent's House in Vassalboro Maine.

Psychic Kids - The entire investigation core investigated the home that was part of the episode we consulted on, and Tony was filmed with Chip and the two 'kids'  (names withheld) the episode was about.  You can see direct evidence (the photo) that here at

http://www.aetv.com/psychic-kids/photo-gallery/#/psychic-kids/photos/season-3/chip-introduces-tony.jpg

I, Kat, feel for Amy, as it's clear this is where this false accusation originated.  She is a troubled soul and has been called out, publicly, on more than one occasion, for theft of monies from people who signed up for events she put on, but which she canceled.

Amy, if it hasn't been made clear to you yet, perhaps this will help with your understanding of how things work:  When you cancel an event people prepaid for, you have to give that money back.  You don't get to keep it.  No matter how "tight money is these day", or what sort of "financial issues" you may be having.  Those are you personal issues and not the responsibility of the people who gave you their event fee.  If you don't return that money it's theft.  Plain and simple.  And when people are stolen from they get upset.  Write that down since it seems to be a concept you can't seem to commit to grasping.

Amy has a currently open warrant for her arrest in the state of Ohio which can be viewed here
http://www.avonlakecourt.com/cgi-bin/mcaseno.cgi?pre=CRB&num=9500055&sub=&type=CR&acc= and has a criminal history that is quite extensive, spans multiple states, and involves theft & fraud.  Most recently, her latest gig, is telling people she's a gifted psychic.  As always, we warn people to beware of who they trust.  This is the type of thing she does when she thinks she can get away with it.  She creates fake identities, goes on the internet, and plays people for fools.

The following aliases are just a small number of those which we are aware Amy (Morrison) Rodriguez uses:

Amy Elizabeth Morrison (her maiden name)

Amy Lewis/Aimee Lewis - Amy was adopted at age 4 by her step-father.  Her birth father's last name is Lewis so she sometimes uses it. It is NOT her legal name and has not been since she was adopted, at age 4.

Amy/Aimee MacLeod -

Beth Lewis  - "Elizabeth" is her middle name

Amy Christine Rodriguez - "Christine" is her mother's middle name, and she sometimes uses it.

Aimee Rodriguez  -   The correct and legal spelling of her name is AMY.  Not A-I-M-E-E.  She uses this different spelling to keep people from finding her extensive criminal history and to keep creditors off her trail. Check her residential history and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Amelia Rodriguez -  It's not a stretch to imagine "Amelia" can be shortened to "Amy", right?  Again, a simple background check will show you everything you need to know about Amy Rodriguez (maiden name Morrison)

Everything we do, we do out in the open.   Please call us if you have ANY concerns.  Our phone number is (207) 504-6224

Also, please check our Meetup site member list.  You will not find anyone on it with the name that is listed here as the person who created this complaint.  There is no one on our member list that remotely resembles the person who complained here, so that should tell you something in and of itself.  And, as I have stated, ALL of our events have gone through Meetup.com .  The payments are collected by Pay Pal and if there were any issues with payment, they can be disputed with paypal directly.   Anyone who uses paypal knows this, as well.  Disputed payments are not paid until disputes are resolved.

Try again Amy.   Those who know you, know what you're capable of.  You aren't fooling anyone, and we thank you for showing the community of paranormal, up here in the North East, exactly how low you will stoop.

I surely hope the person who is actually responsible for the public posting about you can have their issue resolved.  If you just gave them their money back your problem would go away. Instead, you create a brand new problem for yourself with this posting right here.  Classy.  Real Classy.

In response to Sevastra.com domain owner whose initials are B.G.  - We have publicly announced we are the only team allowed to investigate the Portland Headlight because that is what we were directly told by the management of the location on multiple occasions.   If it is wrong, it is not because we are purposely misleading anyone, it is because this is the information we were given.  Again, you're just as classy as Amy here, to bring up an issue such as this publicly rather than privately.   Thanks for looking out for us, we appreciate it.  We always have.  (we reiterate, our number is 207-504-6224)  And we will continue to state we are the only team allowed to investigate the Portland Head Light until the management of the location (the lighthouse director) tells us differently.  If we are told differently, we will change the information on our website to reflect this new information.

For anyone who may be interested - B.G. of Sevastra.com, a professional photographer here in Maine, is a domain squatter.  She's been squatting the domain "www.maineghosthunters.com" for years now.  She told us she'd sell it to us for $100 and when we made the bid she increased it to the ridiculous amount it is today (last time I - Kat - looked, years ago, it was somewhere in the range of $5,000.00).  That's character.  That's her character.  So you can take her rebuttal here, with that in mind.  She's also the type of nuisance who does such things and then adds herself to our Twitter Followers and facebook pages, and so on and so forth.  So take that for what it's worth.  (yes B.G. we know you're there.  We've known you were there since the day you latched on)

To our Maine Ghost Hunters members, meetup members, and supporters, we thank you for being there for us, and we look forward to continuing to be there for you and with you.

Kat
Maine Ghost Hunters

P.S.  Maine Ghost Hunters has a TV show on WPME here in Maine, called ZeroLux Paranormal and our YouTube channel houses all of these episodes.   We invite KarlPGE of Bangor, the original complainant, to call us at (207) 504-6224 or to contact the Better Business Bureau here in Maine with your official business complaint so we may address it through overt legal matters. THIS is how confident we are that you are fake, and this is a fabricated account.   Please make sure you have your account transaction information regarding your payment to us, and the event you attended so we can round up witnesses on our account, which will also be in your favor if you attended.  Call it a gift, from us to you.  Our team photographers take over 200 photos EACH and every single one of our participants is video recorded during ALL of our events.   You are not one of our members and you have never attended one of our events.  And I will go so far as to invite you to file civil charges against us in your local district court so we can address this in person, rather than on the internet - something you won't do, because you can't.  Because you're fake, and you do not exist.  We are a little more than an hour from your home town, which you marked as "Bangor".  Let's meet.  Let's get this taken care of.

Shame on you New England GHOST.

Report Error

AUTHOR: Sevastra - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 19, 2013

I am unsure whether the report is true or not I just wanted to add that I own the website www.maineghosthunters.com and have for many years, even before the group Maine Ghost Hunters came to be.

I am not affiliated with the group Maine Ghost Hunters. Their website should be corrected to read www.mainghosthunters.org.

I did see on their website that they list themselves as the only team ever to investigate Portland Headlight Lighthouse and that is totally untrue. I accompanied the Travel Channel and Medium psychic David Wells along with his team which included the group from NH on August 7th 2008. I actually have the photos from that trip. I am a photographer www.sevastra.com
