had been wanting to get rid of Fair Point for a long time. I finally decided to try out the Majic jack when an add came into my email. I purchased the Majic Jack Plus, installed it and started using it. worked great! Very clear, only an occational dropped call. Paid the $20 to have my Fair Point # transfered. Was all set about 10 days later. I get on 3-4 different conference call numbers for 2-3 hours each thru out the week. Iwould have no problem at all dialing these numbers. I began to notice that the call would be disconected a exactly 1.5 hours and I would have to wait about 2-3 minutes before I could dial back in. I contacted Majic Jack by the only meens possable, online chat, and complained 4 fferent times nd each time they had me plug the unit into the pc so they could "reprogram" it. Each time they said I should no longer have this problem. Ya right! Next call, same thing. Then at about 30 days of use I was no longer able to dial in on a conference call line. Each time i tried I would get a recorded message that said "to call a conference line please log on to www.majicjack.com to purchase prepaid minutes for conference calling". They want $.02 per minute. There was never any mention anywhere that conference calls would be charged extra. I again complained, again pluged in to reset the unit, only to be told, after 3 complaints and about 4 hours total, that there was nothing they could do, you will just need to buy prepaid minutes. This is known as a bait and switch and the Maine Attorney General, The Consumer Credit protection Agency and the BBB will be very interested in your business practices. I am writing these letters now. If you have a similar experence please let me know. We need to file complaints against these sorts of things. Have a great day!
