When putting on recently dry cleaned light gold shirt from Majik Touch Cleaners I observed bright yellow stains on the fabric around all the buttons and button holes as well as in random spots around the pockets. I brought the shirt back to the cleaners (the dry cleaning tab was still attached) and pointed out the stains.
Clerk immediately said they didn't use bleach and that he had never seen stains like these. He blamed the shirt manufacturer (LL Bean - shirt is 100% cotton). This particular shirt has been dry cleaned for over 5 years mostly at their locale. He stated they clean 500 shirts a day without such problems so it had to have happened elsewhere and he was not responsible for any damage. Stains look like what you would expect if a bleaching agent or optical brightener were allowed to stay in contact with fabric for extended period.
