Makita Tools Makita does not honor their warranty - junk drill drivers that last only a few months, Internet

I  bought  a  Makita  drill /  driver  at  the end  of  june 2012  with  a  one  year  warranty.

Before  that  I had  a  (((competitor's name redacted)))  drill that  was  less  than  half  the price  and  lasted  many  years.   After  less  than  6  months  I  noticed  that  the  chuck  was  lose  and  I  took  it  to  their  authorized  repair  center,   Fisher  Tools  in  Tempe.

I  showed  them  that  the  chuck  was  loose  and  that  the  tool  was  still  within  the  one  year  warranty.   After  2  weeks  they  called  me  and  told  me  that  this  was  "wear and  tear"  and  not  covered  under  warranty.

The  warranty  information  does  not  mention  that  the  chuck  is  not  covered  under  warranty.  I  believe  that   a  tool  should  last  a  year  and  that  the  manufacturer  should  replace  internal  parts  if  they  wear  out  within  the  warranty  period.

What  I  learned  from  this  is:

1.)    Makita  is  cheap  chinese   junk,  worse  than  Ryobi   or  Black  and  Decker  and not  worth  
        the  premium  price.

2.)   Makita  does  not  honor  its  warranty.

3.)   I  will  stay  away  from this  manufacturer.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
