Manrique Custom Vision Carlos Manrique loss of vision and severe dry eye after lasik surgery Edinburg, Texas

I was seeing 20/25 on each eye and 20/20 with both eyes with my high prescription glasses. I had very high astigmatism and I was farsightness. Beto and a team of doctors examined my eyes and said that I was a candidate for this surgery. Also a doctor said that I had mild dry eyes, probably due to allergies. She prescribed an eye drop called Restasis and instructed me to start taking it immediately after the surgery. I questioned to Beto why can't they treat me for this dry eye before the procedure and get it under control so my outcome would be better, since dry eyes during the healing process can negatively alter the healing.

He stated in email that dry eyes is a condition that is not affected by Lasik surgery, which in fact is a false claim. He said that I was questioning the integrity of the doctors so I believed his word at the time. The day of the surgery they put you in scrubs , pop a volume in your mouth and sit you in a waiting room. The volume kicks in, you get relaxed and calm. Then they call you to an office and have you sign a consent form. Trust me that the side effects of them happen more often then they state. Manrique recently even told me that this surgery can cause blindness and vision loss that CANNOT be corrected with corrective lenses, which is not on the consent form.

During the surgery, when they were creating the flap, there was extreme, extreme pain on my right eye. I felt the tears pour out like a waterfall. For some reason Manrique left that eye and did the left one, which there was no pain on that eye. He then went back to the right eye and completed it. That night, my right eye was very painful and watering so so much.

Now during the followup care, they examined my vision and they will tell you to read the lines. Even if you see double vision or very low quality vision, they will say you are seeing good. They could not correct me with corrective lenses. Remember I said they told me to take Restasis for the dry eyes. I did start taking them. Not once during like an 8 month time they tested or even treated me for dry eyes. They never determined if the Restasis was working. My eyes, especially the right one was dry as a rock, which they never even acknowledged. It was not until one visit, there was a newer doctor that I asked to test me for dry eyes and she did.

She said that both eyes were extremely dry, especially my right eye. The tears would evaporate in like 1-2 seconds, which normal is over 5. I was excited that they finally found out the issues of why they could not correct me with corrective lenses. The next visit with Manrique, to my surprise they never looked at my dry eyes or put me on any treatments for improving the quality of tears. It was not until this point I went to another doctor, which in one visit diagnosed me with crappy tear film and prescribed me antibotic drops and medication. This doctor states from scans that my eyes will not get better or will not get worse.

So now I am stuck with bad vision. There are no treatment options to correct this. No glasses can correct my vision.  The last visit with Manrique, they prescribed glasses with -2 in the left eye and an astonishing -5 in my right eye and both have moderate astigmatism. Let me point this out that even with this high prescription after lasik, I still do not see what i saw with glasses before. Everything is double with this prescription and they claim that they did correct me and I am seeing good with it. I tried to obtain a refund from Manrique with no success. He keeps on stating that the surgery was a success. After both of us looking at the consent form, there was no risk on that form that states you can lose vision that cannot be corrected with corrective lenses. If there was, I would of not went through with this procedure.
