MantisAuto &a consignment sales Great boat deal scam Unsure Internet

 I saw other reports about this company on this site and PayPal. Like similar reports, I found an amazing deal on a 2012 Key West boat for ~$23,650 on Craigslist (~$15,000 less than book value). After searching more on Craigslist, I found the same boat for $21k. I emailed and didn't hear back until a few weeks later. Then the seller, Linda in this case, asked me for my email as she couldn't figure out how Craigslist worked. I also had my wife contact the seller on Craigslist and we got the exact same response to give email to communicate. So, I contacted her to negotiate on the boat and she sent me to the MantisAuto & Consignment Auto Sales website. It looked legit but I called and no one answered. And, their phydsical addresses weren't specifically listed. At this point, we agreed on a price but I asked for the Hull ID Number so I could run a boat history report. She said she would ask Mantis and get back to me. 24+ hours later I haven't received a response...I searched more about the company and whether it was a scam and these reports that were exactly the same popped up; only they were for different boats and/or a backhoe. For fun, I emailed her the ripoff report links and asked her why the boat stickers in the photos showed it was registered in New Jersey yet located in Nashville, TN. Doubtful I will hear back but thankful I searched online before going any further. Thanks to the other people who created reports as this seems like a scam to me. Beware of this company!
