Maple Shade Mazda, Previously Maple Shade Daewoo Ripoff Either didn't replace the rocker arm cover gasket or did a bad job of it Turnersville New Jersey

In November of 2003, I had brought my 2000 Daewoo Lanos in for several repairs totalling about $1300.00. One of those repairs was for a rocker arm cover gasket leak.

When I had brought my car to a trusted mechanic in March of 2004, to find a leak in the transaxel, he had pointed out the leak at the rocker arm cover gasket which supposedly been repaired back in November. Judging by the amount of oil down the front of the block, it had been leaking for many months.

When I had finally got the chance to talk to them, they explained that they no longer service Daewoo vehicles and are not allowed to do any work on them.

I had pointed out that they charged me for the repair, and it was not done because the leak was in the same place. They in turn told me that there is no proof that the leak is in the same place, and they could not repair it.

When I had asked for a refund for a repair not done, they stated that they also could not do that, with attitude. They also stated that they are forbidden to work on Daewoos.

Daewoos owners can only get certain parts from Daewoo dealership according to the arrangement by GM who had bought Daewoo Korea, not Daewoo US. They also pointed this out.

Now the nearest dealership is 22 miles away, and I have to find the time to get off from work, and then pay for a repair that I had already paid for in the previous year.

I'm still driving with the leak. I can't afford even one day without pay.

BTW, the Aveo by Chevrolet is my car with a different body. Funny how I can't get parts from a closer GM dealership.
