Is the job of the public defender to work for you as their client? To do what you want even if they advise against it? Well I do have to say that Marina did not do that for my boyfriend. We asked several times for motions to be put in and her response was...."oh the judge won't grant that so don't bother" in so many words. Her famous line was " I understand but......" He tried to fire her and the Judge said No basically that it was too late in the game for any of that. He took his case to trial and Thank god he had a 2nd public defender that knew what he was doing. If it was not for him he probably would have more time than he does. We are not happy at all with her services. She is only fresh out of school two years and just needed a trial under belt. That was the feeling I got when I spoke to her whether she won the case or lost it. She had no back bone. Was very nervous and you could hear it in her voice. No confidence what so ever.
