I have been unfortunate enough to have to do business with Mariner Finance after they bought the company I had my loan through. To start off, yes I have been late with payments. However, I have never been more than 59 days late with a payment. I have received 16 phone calls in one day starting as early as 2:17am, at home, on my cell, and my job. I was told that even if I give a payment date they must call every day to see when I will make my payment. They have come to my house and left notices in my mailbox, I know they did this because there was no postage. They have come to my house and given notices to minor children in my house. At on point I was given notice that I needed to make a payment by a certain date or they would start legal proceedings. I made the payment within the allotted time but they had already started the proceedings before I received the notice, so now I have to go to court. They have called people who are not my family and harassed them. I am done with them. I have made payments that have not posted for weeks. I need help getting rid of them. I am willing to join a class action suit or whatever it takes to get these loan sharks out of my life.

Did you read the entire report? I understand that they should try to collect, but the methods they have used are illegal. That is the problem. I have worked in collections myself and I know the laws regarding collections practices and those laws have been broken. If you are going to respond to a post please read and try to comprehend what the actual complaint is before responding.

- You make it sound like that is a GOOD thing. Seriously do you think that there is some law that says they can't attempt to collect on your account unless you are 60 days late?
Yes I can imagine that someone who as been as much as 59 days they need to continually contacted to make sure that you actually are going to pay the amount you owe.
So now you have to go to court. Not knowing what you are being sued for. You better have proof of all of your payments, as well as proof of your income(or lack there of) if they try to get the court to put you into a court ordered payment plan.
You want them out of your life..pay off the loan.
