I've retained and worked with over 20 attorneys in my career, Mark by far being the worst in my opinion. Despite ultimately prevailing after firing Mark and hiring a more competent attorney, Mark's lack of care and consideration, allowed our former employee to gail leverage on the process. Despite hiring Mark only to write a demand letter, Mark, on his own initiative, wrote up a brief and recommended we file a lawsuit for leverage in Superior Court.

Mark failed to note the arbitration clause in the employee contract, so that effort and money was wasted. Mark then advised us to pursue arbitration stating we'd have more leverage due to split arbitration fees, but Mark was unaware of a CA Supreme Court ruling where a dual role 1099 and W2 employee/contractor, would always default as a W2, causing the employer to cover ALL arbitration fees.

This allowed the employee to gain leverage over us, rather than us having leverage, and we were forced to pay for the employee's spurious countersuit in Arbitration. Mark's failure to advise us of potential risks or effectively communicate throughout the process was another point of controversy. Having worked with many attorneys, we found Mark's billing practices to be highly aggressive, he would allow for no consideration for his misguided representation, and if I were looking for a competent attorney, I'd move right on past Mark Ozzello and take my chances elsewhere.

I cannot state enough how dissatisfied both my General Counsel and I were with Mark's representation. I'm sure he'll spin this story to great effect, but I have never before written a negative review on any of the attorney's I've hired, even when we lost, and we ultimately prevailed with another attorney in this matter. We intend to file a Bar complaint against Mark for his incompetent representation. So few will file negative reviews on an attorney and this is my first, but understand it is well deserved.
