I wish we would have researched Mr. Mark Reeder and Logantown Entertainment on Ripoffreport.com before ever going into any business transaction with him. But as they say, hindsight is 20/20.
My company was introduced to Mr. Reeder by a nightclub owner. Being fairly new to concert promotions, we relied on the referral and didn't go into the situation as guarded as we should have been. We were seeking to book a well known R&B Artist for a public concert in February 2007. Though a bit rough around the edges Mr. Reeder came across as knowledgeable and guaranteed us in no uncertain terms that he could acquire the said artist. Because of this guarantee and his experience with other promoters he asked that we wire 50% of the deposit upfront. A deposit which was fully refundable, should things not work out. We promptly wired Mr. Reeder $2500.
A few days later, Mr. Reeder said everything was confirmed and that he was waiting for the Artist's agent to sign the booking agreement. We started becoming uneasy when after many requests, Mr. Reeder would not and could not produce the signed booking agreement. What made matters worse was that the House of Blues was advertising that the same artist was performing, in our same city, on the same date we had booked at their venue. When confronted with this, Mr. Reeder claimed that the HOB didn't have the artist booked and that they were notorious for promoting concerts before actually having booked the acts. After hearing this explanation we promptly demanded a refund verbally and in writing.
Mr. Reeder has yet to send back our money. Since March 2007 he has been stringing us along with promises that the money will be returned. In June 2007, he sent us a random email stating What up my dude im going to be taking care of you myself I don't know what's up with my slow a** accountant. Still, until this day, no refund materialized.
After threatening to sue him (which we did in July 2007) his response was, (and I am copying and pasting directly from an email he sent): If you want to take me to court I'm not stopping you do what you feel is best for you and your company no need to tell me your every move and do what you feel you have to with the better business bureau that doesn't mean anything to me non of that does. Another time he wrote: I'm not arguing at all this is why I said take legal action if you need to. Monday was a holiday and that wire didn't get called back in until after that so either wait for it to post or take legal action that's all I can tell you because I don't have the time to waste to explain things you already said what you wanted to do and all I and all I'm saying is you should do that if you feel that strong about it.
Since requesting our deposit, Mr. Reeder and the staff at Logantown Entertainment, Inc have become very hostile, evasive, and uncooperative. Mr. Reeder pegs himself as a professional businessman with integrity. That could not be further from the truth. He is a professional thief and con artist. We've spoken to two other individuals that have been scammed by him or an affiliate of his. They have both lost $5000.
If you are an agent, promoter, club owner, or anyone looking to book talent and want a surefire way to be scammed and to lose your money, definitely use the services of Mark Reeder of Logantown Entertainment, Inc. However, I implore you to stay away from him and his company. We are in the beginning stages of our lawsuit and pray for restitution. We have also filed a complaint against him with the Better Business Bureau.

This is just an update that I received a phone call "out of the blue" from Mark Reeder about a month ago. He called to ask if he owed me money. My response was yes, (though I'm sure he was fully aware but I played his silly game). He gave several empty apologies and continued to blame the refund delay on his accountant. Since March 2007, he has complained about this ficticious accountant. You would think he would have replaced the person by now. Anyway, he also went on to say that he has been very busy but promised to wire the money to my account within one week. Needless to say, 4 weeks later, I have yet to hear from Mark Reeder nor see a dime of my money.
I am at a loss as to how this man can continue to con people out of thousands of dollars. For what it is worth, I have filed complaints with the Internet Crimes Investigation Center www.ic3.gov, The Better Business Bureau www.bbb.org, The Office of the Attorney General of Pennsylvania 215.560.2414, The Pennsylvania State Police, and because I am based in Atlanta, the Dekalb County Sheriffs Office, and the Georgia Governors Office of Consumer Affairs. I would urge everyone who has been scammed by Mark Reeder to do the same.
Mr. Reeder has been scamming people for quite a long time. By our efforts, hopefully we will be his last victims. I've seen a few people post rebuttals on ripoffreport.com and leave favorable remarks about Mark Reeder. Don't be fooled!! I am 90% sure this is Mark Reeder masquerading as a satisfied customer. How lame!
It was comforting to see the remarks from Tammie Garr. Let's pool our efforts to get this guy!
