Mark-Taylor Apartments ripoff Bug infested, pool hours always changing, delayed security refund. Tempe Arizona

I lived at SAN PALMILLA "luxury" rentals for over 1 year and was treated very poorly for the outrageous amount of rent paid to the company. I used the term "luxury" because that is what they advertise that their apartments are, but don't be fooled!

My apartment was infested with termites, resulting in my having to move my bedroom, and forbid my cat from entering the room. They did have a pest control company come out and "take care" of the problem, but the problem never went away, and after the termite company left the floors and walls were a mess from their exterminating!

When we signed the lease agreement, they stated the pools were open for 24 hours, but that would change periodically depending on the manager's moods... without any notice given to the residents except a lock on the pool door. VERY POOR COMMUNICATION AND BUSINESS PRACTICES!

When I decided to move out, I gave my 30 day notice and requested a walk-through with the manager, but the manager or any other staff member did not bother to grant this request. Luckily on the final day, when I returned the keys, someone offered to walk with me. This person said everything looked good, but I would be receiving my final statement from Mark the maintenance supervisor. I waited 20 days and finally called the office to see what was taking so long to have my check mailed to me. I was shocked to hear I had a 150 bill being charged for moveout fees!

According to the Arizona Landlord-Tenant Act the landlord has 10 days from move-out to send you a refund of the security or bill you for move-out expenses. This was never done and I had to call to find out the outcome. Again VERY POOR COMMUNICATION AND BUSINESS PRACTICES!
I was very upset and called the "main" office in Scottsdale, but unfortunately Kevin N. the manager for San Palmilla did NOT return my repeated request for a call back. VERY POOR COMMUNICATION AND BUSINESS PRACTICES!

I have since filed a report with the BBB and Arizona Attorney General regarding my concerns. I highly discourage anyone from renting from Mark-Taylor Properties! Be very cautious
