Marketecture Extreme neglect and false advertisement Orem, Utah

We hired Marketecture in the spring of 2010 to develop an ecommerce website for our company. We were asked to pay up front for the website via credit card over the phone. We were never sent a service agreement, invoice, or receipt of any kind. Absolute stupidity on our part. After nearly six months of frustrating calls and emails we finally learned that the company did not intend to develop the site as we requested. They finally noted that they did not have the capability of designing the type of site we requested despite the services being listed on their website as services offered. A customer service representative told us they may add those services in the future, but did not know when. After a great deal of complaining, Marketecture refunded a portion of our cost, but could certainly offer back the six months we lost working with them. We are grateful for the partial refund, acknowledge our absolute ignorance in working with a web developer without a detailed service agreement, but wish to help others avoid a similar problem.
