i am the wife of someone who works for marketing sessions, which is a branch of cydcor....my marriage is about to wind up in a divorce because this company has promised my husband the world and it has not come true...they promise him checks that come maybe once a month, that might compile to $200.

the way he talks about it, it sounds like a cult...they gear each other up for their days of observation and go out and sell for twelve hours a day and at the end of two weeks you are not presented with a check because they either lost your sheet.. the accounting office is closed or they tell you on monday...

i know my husband does work hard at this job and believes he is going to make it and he is willing to sacrafice his family for it...

i think this company does not have the money they say and are using these people who believe in the quick fix...

we have a child and she suffers because this company can make you believe anything... especially if you do not have a college degree, they make you believe anyone without the right back round can run a business and scam people...

he has signed people up for office supplies and phones and people may buy but there are days he does not sign anyone up... it puts unnecessary miles on your car and they promise it is all worth it... and it only takes 6-8 months, but during that time if you do not have an extra job do not expect to get paid... there were months my husband did not get a check and the company keeps telling him it is coming and it never does.

now they have put him on a campaign that supposedly pays every two weeks and lost one of his pay slips so he did not get his whole check...

they suck you in to believe it is just going to take a little while and it winds up being longer than that...

please someone write me back i really do not want to lose my husband but i cannot take a financial burden of paying for my child all by myself and hoping for what ifs that never happen...

AUTHOR: Jen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 10, 2007

I am currently looking for jobs in Chicago and I was going to have an interview with one of the companys that you are all talking about. Victory Promotions. I just wanted to thank you all for filing complanits here b/c after reading through all of these I cancelled my interview and found out one of my friends actually wound up having to do what you were all taking about.

You all weren't kidding, she had to go door to door and did get dropped off in the middle of nowhere. So I thank everyone for sharing their stories. And I was looking on Career Builder and Marketing Sessions came up so I checked that out too and that led to your responses so Thank You SO much!!!!!!

Worked with Sessions

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, September 18, 2006

I worked for MIA - Maximum Impact Advertising that shared an office with Sessions Marketing when it was in the office building in Marlton/Mt. Laurel border off Rt 73. I was only there a month then quit and answered a different advertising ad--thinking I was safe. It was for another DS-Max company! I forget the name but it was Jaime Corstorphine's office. They sucked me back in!

It is a cult and how its legal I'll never know--they pray on just out of high school kids and college kids. We went on college campuses and signed people up for credit cards so we could ruin people's credit. Then we did store promotions with Wal-mart and K-mart to sign up for their cards and give a more adult crowd bad credit. None of us busting our butts got paid then they trick you into moving away from your friends and family that keep telling you this is wrong so you can open more offices and beter the business.

Our vendor liscense was a photo copy so instead of everyone having paid for one the office bought one and passed it around. Then I looked real hard and noticed it was expired. I asked about that and I was told that if any cop questioned us when we were on campuses to call the office and they would take care of it.

We did door to door promotions and you had to be alone "working your area" unless you were training someone. So at night in the winter I was a 20 year old out in the dark by myself knocking on strangers doors. One man felt scared for me and handed me a army pen--you pull it apart and the top was a sharp letter opener--he said use it as protection if I get in trouble out there. I still have that pen as a reminder of his kindness and as a reminder to never be that manipulated and naive ever again.

Please people if you are working for a DS-Max company get out! You are better than that! The money will never come--go work retail--work at the mall anywhere but DS-Max!

I also worked for Marketing Sessions It was a disgraceful company

AUTHOR: Lee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 11, 2005

I worked for Marketing Sessions in December 2001-January 2002. It was a disgraceful company. The owner, Michael Sessions was an idiot. He was definitely trying to hook up with a new hire, Jen. She had a few good days and the next thing they were out to dinner together and who knows what else. On more than one occasion he yelled at me. One time for being negative (answering a new hire's question about not getting a paycheck on time).

I told her it takes some time, that was interpretted as negative. And one time because I was flat out of money and had no gas in my car so I took the hour drive back to the office early. How dare I was his attitude. It had nothing to do with me not getting a paycheck for 4 weeks. Then, after offering to advance me gas money, he refused after I had the nerve to drink a beer (it was bought for me by a nice girl named Katie) at a team building (or whatever it was called) after working 12 hours on a Thursday night.

The company was a joke (it's not longer located at Springdale Plaza, there is karate studio there.) I'd love to know what Michael Sessions is doing now. Probably bilking old ladies out of their social security!

This Stuff Is Great

AUTHOR: Derek - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 04, 2003

I worked at Marketing Sessions and I just want to say you are all right it is a scam. I was just wondering stranger in NJ who was your boyfriend because I might have worked with him. Let me just say the secret in the company is everybody sleeps around. Supposedly the only way to advance is to sleep with the owners. Like all offices the more you "Put Out" the more you get out of the business. I had sexual advances made on me by owners of BOTH SEXES! I wasn't sure what to do but eventually quit after a female employee who "Worked Hard" got more days off than me. One of the women who hit on me has a child and is married. The other owner who hit on me was very older than me and was of the same sex. They claim that you are promoted on "Merit" but thats false. The whole company is poorly run and is full of sexual deviants! I fear for people who had boyfriends and girlfriends when I worked there because they're were atleast 10 different people who hooked up while I was there and I was there for only 2 months! Please keep your family and friends away from these perverts!

I hope he knows what he is doing

AUTHOR: Brian - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 08, 2003

I read your report and thought I could give you some insight.

I am a former owner with dsmax, I worked there for 4 and a half years, I lost my girlfriend to this business, so I know how you and your husband feel.

Hopefully he will read this and other responses and understand that what he thinks is so great about ds-max is not as real as he thinks.

First off, some owners do make money, unfortunatly most owners are in debt and try to play catch up each week, If the office is running with around 10 people this is propably the case.

Owners also lose a lot of money quickly by promoting outside deals, Trust me I have had 5 myself. So if the owner just put a deal out he is propably tight for cash.

Your concerns about your husband not getting his paychecks on time is because the owner probably doesn't have the money. Filling out paperwork is pretty simple, Your checks are cut throught the owners hub girl and herb joy/appleone, this is a service that you as the owner pay for.

As owners we have a lot more expenses than your husband realizes, Tax liability, rent, hub fees, herb joy fees, shipping, administrater, Rally fees, and a lot more. This is not normally broken down to new people in pre management meetings.

Your husband thinks he is going to make a $100,000.00 a year and he probably is working his a*s off trying to get to management, If your husband is one of the owners top people he might try to talk to the owner about getting stroke on his sales, Have him explain his finacial situation, If the owner doesn't help him out, then the owner probably has money problem or his owner doesn't look at him like the next deal. As the owner you won't make any money if your husband leaves, so giving him owners stroke is an option to keep him around.

If the owner doesn't help him, your husband should look at it as if he really doesn't give a crap about him. If anyone of my top guys needed help I would do almost anything for them, It was an investment in my business, but if a guy who wasn't going to make me money ask, there would be no way.

If your husband is really locked in to the business, then trying to tell him negitive things about the business will back fire on you. I would try to support him if you don't want to lose him. Hopefully he will wake up and start to notice things that are not consistant with what he was told in the beginning.

This business is very powerful, you are surrounded by people who are so focused on where they are going, that they don't notice the slow inconsistant changes and before you know it, you have gone so far that its tough to get out(pride). You husband is driven to make money, but unfortunatly the odds are he wont, not that he won't make it to management, but as a manager he will still be living the same as he did in the field.

Cydcor Ruined my relationship too!!!

AUTHOR: Stranger In NJ - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, June 07, 2003

I feel your pain. My bf got involved with this business even though i told him that it sounded shady. The more i pressed him about it, the more he pulled away from me. Every time i pointed out how what they were doing was wrong, he just shut me down by telling me that this isn't like other companies. "it's not for everyone" was his motto. I agree. it's cult like. Their rules for no negativity in the "atmosphere" resulted in me getting all the negativity, all the time. when he was hired, it was supposed to be 9-5 but it wound up being 7-7. Plus, he had to work Saturdays. He went on so-called "business trips" that included 4-6 people in a MOTEL room or bringing sleeping bags to sleep on someone he didn't knows floor. Thankfully, he now sees that he was brainwashed by this so-called business. Of course, he needs to accept responsibility for allowing them to brainwash him. Unfortunately, the damage is done. it's going to be a long road for us to be OK again. Everyone, BEWARE!!!! I wish we would have known about this website when he went on his DAY OF O.

Madame, please look up the "ds max" and "dsmax" categories in the ripoffreport. You will get some insights into the corrupt practices of this company. Show it to your husband and everyone in his whole office.

Is it that your husband lost his paperwork, or that he just flat out did not make money and is too ashamed to tell you? Paperwork is not that hard with cydcor and ds-max. I would think that all some one would have to do is mess up once and then get it right - especially if he has mouths to feed.

Good luck in getting him out. I know from experience - once they get you in - you do anything to succeed and ignore everyone you love that wants you to leave. He probable has you labeled in his mind as a "negative" that is preventing him being promoted.

I will put you both in my prayers - that he wakes up and that your marriage succeeds.
