 i had book 6 rooms through hotels . com  and when i called the hotel they would not honor the deal so i went to file a claim at look no further(marriott) and the denied my claim and said i could stay at a higher rate

Shouldn't you contact hotels.com? You booked rooms via a third party, so you should let the third party solve the problem. If the hotels.com actually has a deal with Marriote, then they should take responsibility for it. Why would you take the matter to your own hand? Is there something missing in your report?
