Superior Equestrian Centre (Sec), boarding stable in the Birds Hill Park area of Oakbank,Manitoba entered into a boarding contract with Marty Rayman and Lori Martin for their 5 horses. One of the 5 horses is a stud and we let them know that their is limited space for studs since they have to be in a paffock by themselves. We said that we could start extending an existing paddock but it would take time. After 2 months, they started to complain. We had a meeting to let them know where things we at and instead wanted a discount on their board rate. During the 2 months one of their mares became deathly ill and took all of our extra time for over a month just to ensure that she lived. They told their vets to not speak with us but expected that we give the medication on our own time, free of charge. In the boarding contract it states that there would be charges for extras beyond the regular agreement. The contract also states that they must provide 30 days notice if wanting to move their horses or pay the 30 days if they wanted to move them immediately. This is a standard clause in horse boarding contracts. The day after the meeting a hauler came to pick up their horses without communicating their decision to us. Before the hauler left, we asked for their cheque for 30 days and we we're given one. However, when we cashed it, found out that they had put stop payment on it. Also, they did not pay for the extra fees for looking after their sick horse.
