He contacted me about jewelry that I was selling through Craigslist and gave me a great offer. Several red flags:

• He was in a big hurry to conduct the transaction.
• We agreed on something, but he conducted his transaction in a different way.
• Kept insisting that it be taken care of today.
• Agreed to cash, but deposited a check (claimed he wasn't able to deposit cash).
• Would not allow me to wait for the check to clear the bank before I sent him the jewelry.

He claimed that he had deposited a certified bank check, but when I told him I would not send the jewelry until I was sure the check would clear, he told me he was going to stop payment on the check, which you can't do on a certified check. He couldn't even tell me what bank he got the bank check from.
