In 2003 I had a RMP door installed in my new home; it was purchased from Home Depot. My husband and I were told by the HD salesperson this was a no maintenance exterior door he told us it did not have to be refinished we specifically asked this. Within a year the finish faded the door is under a 10 foot porch. A rep came out from RMP and said we did not comply with the warranty and they would not do anything. My husband has finished the door every year after that sometimes before the 12 months as stated in their warranty.

Now four years later my oval glass in the center is falling; contacted RMP and they are saying that because 4 years ago the door was not finished that is the reason for the problem. They never sent anyone out to even look at the door and Dolores their claims person is telling me that they do not offer 10 year warranties on the door they sell to Home Depot; I have the warranty in front of me.

This company does not stand behind their products nor with their distributor of their products. Stay away from these companies.

I had the same kind of issue and the underlying company is Masonite. The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act from 1975  give consumers more rights. Masonite does not seem to warranty anything. written or not. They voided my warranty saying I did not paint the door the same day it was installed after they replaced it. I said you replaced a warped door that came warped, so you should have painted it. Second, I did paint it 6am the next day which was in a 24 hour period. But the real fact is, it states very clear that I have up to 45 days to paint it after it's installed. As I said, they are con artists or scammers. Masonite needs to go out of business. The only reason they still sell products is because it's Cheap and wont last.
