I got the call Fast Lane light a few weeks ago, so I called. They told me that I needed to update my billing info, so I did. The woman who I'd given my information to had stated "You're all set, your account will be full by this time tomorrow". A few days later I drove through the fast lane and saw the (other) yellow light (Low Balance) leading me to assume my balance would be renewing shortly as it always does.

Well after a few more days I noticed that the OTHER YELLOW LIGHT (CALL FAST LANE) was back on. I immediately called them to see what was going on and came to find out that the billing info was incorrect (someone made a typo?). I again updated the info and a few more days later the light went back to green but I came home today to a STACK of seven violations ($50x7) which they now want me to not only appeal but also pay a $5 administrative fee for each appeal. What kind of crap is this?

Firstly, they blatantly advertise the Fast Lane on the electronic (emergency) signs on the highway encouraging citizens of the commonwealth to jump on board.

Secondly, the Fast Lane is sponsored by Citizen's Bank (NOT EVEN A U.S. BANK!!!)

Lastly, the violations rep I spoke with openly admitted to being employed by a PRIVATE company.

This makes me wonder:

A) Who is profiting from our violations? (clearly someone, and I highly doubt that it's the Massachusetts taxpayers)

B) If you are you are publicly encouraging use of this system. How can you lawfully tack on a 1000% (or 10,000%) fee for a simple toll? (50 cent toll, $5 charge (or $50 if violation).

C) How can you waste so much time money and paper on a simple thing that happens thousands of times per day.

THIS IS CLEARLY A SCAM!
