to all concerned,

If Massachusetts is a place you are thinking of moving to , well i'd think twice. My wife and i moved here 6 years ago , and we loved this place the history and beauty ,cannot be compared . Now to the reality of Mass. i became disabled 3 years ago in may 03, after a brain aneurysm, owing some back child support i called to notify my home state what had happened . the child support was small and they closed the case against me. That was that right? Wrong i live in Massachusetts now where nothing is easy or cheap. In april, 06 , 3 years after my aneurysm, and my support case was closed. i had no idea that Mass. state could do this , but they were demanding 3,488.00 in back child support , Wait a minute that was closed ,right ? Not according to the state of Mass. in april 06 i recieved a notice telling me Mass D.O.R. dept of revenue, was going to levie my bank acct. the day that letter came i called D.O.R. and informed them it was a closed case. i called the state of michigan and confirmed it was closed and they contacted D.O.R. to inform them it was closed . D.O.R. continued for 5 more months to attach money that was not owed any longer, even after receiving 3 more notices from the state of michigan.they maintained the levie against my acct. forcing me to stop all deposits and in turn causing me to have several overdrafts , costing $177.00 . as i couldnt deposit any money into the bank, i was turned into check systems and now i nor my wife can get a checking acct. anywhere.

As a result i cannot purchase my medication on line for reasonable prices and i cant afford to pay full price i have no insurace as it was canclled due to my lack of a checking acct.this is the state of Massachusetts, a wonderful place to live huh ? i have sought repair from Mass. and have been told to bad for me .i am presently seeking an attorney to represent me in a case to restore my bank rights and to seek restitution for the damage caused my wife and i, As soon as possible we plan to leave this hell as fast as we can . i will never recommend any part of New England as a place to live to anyone . this is the worst place on earth . I would have been better off in the heart of new orleans during Katrina than it has been living here . thank you for your time .

Pay up

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 01, 2006

You admit you owe arrears for child support. Just because you had a medical issue, does not release you from your responsibility.

Michigan did not close anything. You told them about your problems, and they passed the buck on to the state you live in currently.

Nothing is preventing you from buying meds online. Even people with foreclosures and repo's can get credit cards. You just choose not to be part of the banking system. People do this to try and avoid paying their debts.

to norris

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 01, 2006

now we know what you know , which is , you know very little or nothing . once an order is made it is entirely up to the department of child support to collect or modify an order based on info they have on hand such as , letters of disability from social security . norris you sound intelligent but you obviously are not , or at least you are not very well educated in this matter . you should investigate a little more and be sure before you take such a stance .my kids are both grown and on their own , this is not about children and yes the support bureau's are the ones who make these determinations so get a clue and then come back . my insurance was cancelled because the state took money from my acct., that checks had been written to pay , and wasnt there when they came in .the mother on the other hand had been lucky to avoid jail as she had allowed the stepfather involved to MOLEST my kids for a period of over 6 years . he went to jail she got lucky .like i said you dont know the whole story so you made an error its ok . perhaps you would like to hear it from the girls . and maybe you would then have something to say worth listening to go to law school norris and have a good day.

Misleading Synopsis

AUTHOR: Norris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 30, 2006

I have a hard time believing this person for many reasons.

1. A court must be convened to determine if child support should be reduced or eliminated, a department of social services can not make that call.

2. Sounds as if the child's mother sought back child support through the USURY, a court date was made, he was served, and he declined to make an appearance.

3. In an effort to twart the system he closed his bank accounts, now he blames the courts because he is trying to not live up to his responsibilities.

4. Insurance isn't cancelled if you don't have a checking account, its cancelled if you don't pay your premiums on time.

Before lambasting the system, clean your own stall first, or as they say ,people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

my youngest is 25 years old and there is a lot more to this story you dont know wish there was enuff time and space to advise all of the whole story but there is not . thank you to those who understand .

it has been a terrible ordeal and the state attached my wifes private savings as well in this matter i dont know of a single other state that would NOT have at least made a phone call to verify my claim before stealing my wife's money and attaching mine . BUT HEY I'M DISABLED AND WONT FIGHT BACK. sorry i'm not dead it would have been easier even my girls are stunned by what was done to me.

I'm born and raised in Mass.

Steve's problem is that he's just an average guy, he's not "connected" nor does he know who to bribe. Living in Mass. is a lot of, "who you know." Unless you're a Kennedy, then you can get away with anything.

A little too much presuming.

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 29, 2006

First off, we don't know the age of the "child" at this point so jumping onto a soapbox to lambast someone is a little ridiculous. If the "child" is now over 18, the support is finished unless provisions are made to support during continued education.

Second, he abided by his support agreement (albiet hitting a snafu by having a small, trite illness as you apparently see it) and called about his back support after taking care of a BRAIN ANEURYSM. He wasn't shirking his responsiblity. The State of Michigan closed his case. You have a problem with that-send a nasty email to them.

People don't need to be blindsided with astronomical (in the scope of things) bills by some pompous state government that has never been involved in the dealings of this man's daily life until he moved there.

Suggestion...

AUTHOR: Elaine - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 29, 2006

While I have sympathy for you in your condition, I also have sympathy for the child you were involved in making and have stopped making payments...legally or morally, you still had a child to support.

My suggestion is to contact your illustrious senators. Let them do some footwork for you, Ted Kennedy and all them.

Take care.
