My transmission failed on my car last week.  I had it towed to a local dealership.  The service technicians told me the transmission was bad and the cost to replace it was going to be $5500.   The car isn't worth that much, so I started calling transmission shops to see if anyone was interested in buying the car with a bad transmission.

Dave or David Eubanks of Master Transmission, located a short distance from the dealer was my first call!  David talked me out of selling my vehicle with as is, with the bad transmission, and offered to pick it up for free, claiming he does transmission work for the dealer and would charge me a fraction of the cost.  After giving him the vehicle vin #, he quoted me $800 to $1000 to repair the transmission and he would tow it to his shop for free.    He calls me the same afternoon and tells me that due to the convertor being bad, he will need to conduct an inspection by taking the transmission apart for a fee of $385.00, but not to worry, the fee would be included in the repair.  I told him I didn't want to spend more than $1500 regardless of what he finds, and he again promissed it wouldn't cost that much.

The following day, I called for a status, and he quoted me a fee of $2700.00.  I told him I couldn't afford it and how upset I was that he took advantage of the situation by misleading me and misrepresenting his fees, and services.  He pleaded with me to keep the car there for repairs, and told me all I would have to do is say "repair it".  He wouldn't charge me anything for the repairs, until I sold the vehicle.  In fact, he would keep the car on his lot, while advertised for sale.  Any interested party, would need to see the vehicle, while parket on his lot.  Once the sale was complete, he would give me the difference!

 Deceptive!!! Deceptive!!! Dishonest!!!! FRAUD!!!

I told him I was on my way to the shop, and when I got there he had just stepped out of the office (lies lies lies.. I was just on the phone with him in the parking lot).  He stuck me with a towing fee $95 and an inspection fee of $385.00.  Payable only by cash or cashiers check!!!

The vehicle was on the lift and the transmission was in a box.

I asked his technician why they didn't conduct a diagnostic check, as advertised, on their website and technician claimed they did, however would not provide me with a copy.   He said instead they wrote it on the invoice.  Right!

David Eubanks is in the business of deception, not auto repair.  From what I've read, he closed down his last transmission shop, called the Transmission Depot.  He needs to be put out of business permanently.  I will be reporting to all the local media, and filing with the attorney general.
