Matchmaker.com will not refund money Waltham Massachusetts

Do not use matchmaker.com

I chose to cancel my memebership the same day I subscribed- I didn't like the quality of people on the site and you don't know that until you pay to access members profiles...different than other companies where you can browse for free. I didn't think cancelling would be a problem since matchmaker had a three day cancellation policy, and since I cancelled the same day.

an excerpt from their policy...
"You may cancel your contract for Matchmaker.com services within three business days after the first business day after you execute the contract, and all monies paid under the contract will be refunded to you. For the purposes of this paragraph, a "business day" means any day on which Matchmaker.com is open for business. Your right to cancel your contract is in addition to any other contract rights or remedies provided by law.

In addition, if you die during the term of your subscription, your estate will be liable for only that portion of the charges allocable to the time before your death. Notice of cancellation under this paragraph must be made in writing and delivered by certified or registered mail to Matchmaker.com, c/o Lycos, Inc., 100 Fifth Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451. "

The cancellation went through (I know this b/c I can't use the site), but never received a refund. When I contacted the company, they said that they "didn't know what I was talking about" and that the only payment they have record of was on XXMarch...stupid! I know that- I cancelled my memebership, so where's my refund.

Just be careful and don't get burned by people who claim they "don't know or don't have any records"
