Maternity Advantage worthless, conning Washington, District of Columbia

I am writing to express how displeased I am with this company. At first, I was excited about finding their services. Over time, I have found their services to be beneficial and worthless.

I stumbled onto their services while looking for some financial help. I was pregnant and had no insurance. I do realize that they are not an insurance company, but I needed all the help I could get. I spoke to Jason Howell. He told me that through scholarships and other means, we would dramatically reduce our hospital bills after having our baby. I felt very assured that they would help us.

After my son was born on December 10, 2008; I began speaking to Esther Segovia. She was very nice to me. I spoke with her over the phone and through email at least once a week. I faxed every bill I received to her office. She repeatedly told me that she spoke to the companies and we were awaiting a response. I continued to receive bills and threatening telephone calls from the hospital, doctors, and anesthesia services. Esther kept telling me to wait.

One of my hospital bills went to a collection agency, so I called her supervisor. He gave me a speech about how he has owed several vehicles and homes and an outstanding hospital bill will not make a difference with your credit. He had a hospital bill for 20 years before he paid it. He told me that Esther's father passed away so she was behind in her work. He told me to wait.

It has been almost 7 months now since I have had my son. I have three bills at a collection agency. I applied for financial aid and was rewarded some charity. I set up monthly payment with most of the companies. I have not heard anything from Esther or Maternity advantage for over a month. Maternity advantage has not done anything for me.

I am a Christian and a follower of Jesus Christ. Jesus forgave the people who beat him and hung him on the cross. I have paid over a thousand dollars to this company. My family is getting very behind on our bills, but we have faith in the Lord. I forgave them for taking advantage of our family, and taking money that could have gone toward my child's future. However, I will not allow them to do this to other families. I am going to spend every spare moment I have making sure that others do not get involved with their services. Maybe I got involved with their company for a reason.
