In my negative experience with Mathnasium, I've learned that this institution of learning takes a social segregating approach toward less fortunate members of society.  I recenty inquired about a program to help me further my understanding of algebraic concepts to learn that this francise charges a whopping $400 a month.  Excuse me, it was $399 a month.

I was told by Rachel Allen the director/owner, and in her  hubris and justification she stated that a typical person comes 15 hours a month.  In turn that equates to $26 an hour for a tuter.  She also stated that a person may come as often as they please.

My critical question to the consumer is: Do you believe that a person working part time and going to college part time is able to afford these services?  In todays economy  do you think that these services are geared toward some of the lower working classes?  At $400 a month my answer to the consumer is no.  In my opinion,  unless you make or have a combined income of less than $75,000 a year , you may want to give this matter some serious thought before you make that call.

In fact, the two Mathnasium locations in Wichita are considered in highy affluent areas, in high priced restuarant and retail centers.  The locale should of been my first clue that this business is not in my best interest.

In the directors mission statement, and I quote she writes: ''as a teacher there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student have a ''aha'' moment.''  Well Rachel Allen I believed you should of incorporated  a overprivileged student having a ''aha'' moment.

Everthing that is written is true to the best of my knowledge and  this is not an attempt to slander.  This is an attempt to inform the consumer.

Many schools have tutors available at a nominal charge.  You can also check local newspapers or Craigslist, or ask the instructor for help.

Maybe you should just talk with your math teacher.
