I have been a victim of Matrix Medical Network's poor customer service, deceit and underhandness.  On 6 occasions, I have requested that they stop contacting me when I have declined not to answer surveys or questionnaires.  I consider the first contact as an inquiry and anything thereafter is considered harassment.  I have also declined their in-home health assessments.  However, Matrix Medical Network does not take no for an answer and persists in gaining all of my private information for their use.  Because of their bullying tactics I have gone so far in demanding they cease their contact with me and even written letters of objections.

Matrix Medical Network's Director of Compliance Juan M. Chavez has encouraged his employees to get personal and private information at all costs even intimidating the customer.  These tactics should not be tolerated and Juan M. Chavez needs to drastically change his behavior.

Employees have reviewed Matrix Medical Network unfavorably.  This speaks volumes.  Matrix Medical Network is not qualified to handle data gathering and their ignorance shows.  Matrix Medical Network is violating the Medicare policy in demanding that Medicare Beneficiaries do not have to fill out any survey or questionnaire regarding any private information.

Matrix is still guilty and harassing

AUTHOR: Anon - ()

 Matrix

I don't care if you are an employee or an ex-employee and you are still lying that you don't know who my advantage plan is.  Since you won't identify yourself from Matrix we can safely assume you are Juan Chavez.  If not, and you want to continue with defending them we will escalate the issues.  If you are not "management" then you are going beyond your duties and you need to be fired by management.  Like you said, Matrix has access to my information and you don't have to "obtain" it.  Therefore, you do know who is my advantage plan, and you are a "data gathering" entity.  My advantage plan gave you ALL of my private information and in turn you (Matrix) CONTINUALLY contacted me beyond a normal inquiry.  I have indicated to you that my answer was NO to any/all surveys, health assessments and phone calls.  The word NO only has one consonant and one vowel.  Which part of that word don't you understand?  Setting the record straight, we requested that Matrix back off with calling us, but you still persisted.  A normal inquiry with a denial would be just that.  However, after 5 more times, it now becomes harassment.  You may not have been "asked" to harass, but took it upon youself to do so.  The customer service representative that called me in particular should be fired for her ignorance of Medicare, HIPPA and lack of common sense.

You need to familarize yourself with policy on what is illegal regarding Medicare Beneficaries.  It is illegal for you, Matrix to insist that a Medical Beneficary sign a "blank form" and return it back to you regarding a medical assessment asking very private information; and, for one of your so-called nurses to come into my home to give us a so-called physical/health assessment when you were told emphatically NO!   Medicare was contacted by us and the rule/policy read to us.  Your illegal actions are what prompted us to call Medicare and we are glad we did.  After we told Medicare what was happening with the customer service we got from Matrix, they were shocked we were going through all of this.  Your medical assessment asks for information about ones ethnicity, doctor, family history, personal history, power of attorney, medical directive, social history etc., and then you stated this is for continuity of a patient's care.   Your surveys and health assessment documents sent to the Medicare Beneficary in this instance stated it was TOTALLY VOLUNTARY.  This private information does not have anything to do with continuity of care unless care is denied by the health plan which we hope you won't engage in it.  A patient's doctor has all of the information that you want in exchange for a so-called health assessment, but Matrix is DEMANDING it again so it can be disseminated in anyway Matrix wants to do it.  No health plan demands any of its members to have a health assessment with Matrix.  It is purely VOLUNTARY and if persistence by the plan including Matrix is insistent it is considered illegal after a plan member states NO.  We have contacted you Matrix because this is where the inquiry came from and not our advantage plan.  In fact, our advantage plan contacted you to stop, but you didn't do it.

You state the "big wigs" at Matrix, and I'm sure it includes Juan Chavez have received no "complaints," but there is always the first time.  This is the time.  If your surveys/health assessments, or phone calls come from you Matrix, we will call you to complain and not our advantage plan.  We were encouraged to do so.  In other words, complaints will go to the source -- Matrix.  Remember, we asked five times for you to stop and denied your requests.  Next time, we will contact our attorney if necessary.  We will also contact the FTC and AARP to make a complaint if necessary.

You also state your "big wigs" are incredibly generous.  What is meant by that?  What has it got to do with issues at hand of poor customer service and misconduct?  Your pay and benefits are not revelant to our complaint.  Whoopee for you that you are paid generously to do what you have done to us.

We will continue to warn other Medicare Beneficaries if their advantage plan contracts with Matrix Medical.  In fact, yesterday we warned two other potentials what was happening to us and what we experienced.

Yes, but no....

As an employee, I'd like to clarify something here. Your Medicare Advantage health plan (I don't know exactly who, but we work with in the area of 50 health plan providers across the US) is the one who supplies us with your information; we do not need to "obtain" any of it. We have access to your address, phone number, date of birth/age, and in most cases your plan ID number so we do verify this information to make sure we are speaking with the right person, but we don't need to ask for anything else. If there are employees who are asking for other information I can guarentee they would have been fired because thats actually a HIPPA violation since we are being recorded. I personally have never been instructed to intimidate or harass, although it may appear that way if your health plan continues to want to you recieve a health assessment. My suggestion would be to contact them, not Matrix, because all we can do is call you until you say don't call me and then we won't until we recieve your information from the health plan again. Its usually in 6-12 month cycles. As far as the employee complaints, they mostly revolve around the way that the company constantly changes policies--which is largely due to the health plans themselves, and the inconsistencies in QA (what one QA advisor says is no good, your supervisor might ok, etc). The pay, benefits, and the "big wigs" are incredibly generous and from what I've seen have recieved no complaints at all--everything revolves around the mid levels and communications styles.
